Is anyone else exceptionally impatient?

Honestly, I’m worse than a toddler. I’m mid 40s, female, have a family name more impatient than anyone I know including my children. I texted a friend earlier today (2pm) and they still haven’t replied!

I know IABU but is anyone else? Or just me...

So impatient I didn’t proof read it first!

Chill out, you'll give yourself a hernia!

Somethingsnappy · 21/02/2021 15:29

Oh god, yes, me too! Can't stand having to wait for anything!

IliveonCoffee · 21/02/2021 15:30

About some things yes. I want to know instantly.

I blame the internet - having everything I want at my fingertips - amazon prime getting next day delivery (3-5 working days and not free??? Pah! I will get it off amazon...)

Somethingsnappy · 21/02/2021 15:30

P. S. Sorry I didn't reply more quickly Wink

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 21/02/2021 15:30

Yes, but I'm a menopausal old bag. :)

TipseyTorvey · 21/02/2021 15:31

I am. I cannot, cannot queue. Would rather go without. If I shout that dinner is ready I get cross when everyone meanders about for 10mins before coming to the kitchen. I get angry with slow loading Internet pages. I know I'm only driving myself mad but why is everyone and everything so damn slow 😂

littlefireseverywhere · 21/02/2021 15:33

SO pleased it’s not just me. ! And it’s not as if I can help it, there are some things I just don’t care how long they take. But others, well they have to happen now.

@Somethingsnappy apology accepted.

My mum said I was the most impatient person she knew when I was young! I also used to hate queues or having to wait for the bus each day for work or not having something done the minute I thought about it.
I'm better now I'm older and realized that haste isn't a good thing at all! Patience is indeed a virtue.

Mixitupalot · 21/02/2021 15:41

Yep me, I am awful. It needs done right now, I make my mind up quickly & never doubt my decision. if I want something I go get it. I can’t help being like this!

Octopus37 · 21/02/2021 15:44

Patience is indeed a virtue, but I want it right now

TipseyTorvey · 21/02/2021 17:05

I get the absolute rage lately about 'leaving the house'. I think ahead, warn everyone when it's going to happen, give them a 5 min warning but without fail it will take 20 mins of forgetting socks, needing a wee, needing sunglasses, just checking the back door, needing a wee.. Again before we're in the car. I don't know why I get so cross, we're only driving 5 mins to the local woods... Again... But it drives me mad. Get a bloody move on!

minipie · 21/02/2021 17:11

I’m pretty impatient, especially if I haven’t slept well, need the loo, or am a bit hungry. So most of the time!

Unfortunately I have passed this trait on to DC1.

SuperSharpShooter · 21/02/2021 17:21

All of the above and slow walkers in the street 🤯
Get a frigging move on!

thecatsthecats · 21/02/2021 17:29

I go mad staying with my parents.

I sleep in late, and would happily leave the house twenty minutes later after a slice of toast.

They get up before they go to bed, and enjoy serving a leisurely breakfast that they only start making once I wake up. This adds a whopping 1.5h to our start time. I've tried to negotiate that they make breakfast and I just roll down to eat it before we go (I don't actually want it but there's a whole other story there...). No deal.

The waiting is torture - and they blame me for getting up late!

Averyhungrycaterpillar · 21/02/2021 17:33

Oh I am just a nightmare for this. I get a bee in my bonnet about wanting something, then need it yesterday. Just no patience or ability to wait at all! I recently decided to repaint the woodwork in the lounge, HAD to get the paint the same day, did the door and now I have a painted door and nothing else because I got bored. Sigh.

readingismycardio · 21/02/2021 17:38

God, give me patience, and give it to me right now Grin I'm the same. Usually I get it my way but it sucks to be so impatient. And it pisses me off even worse when I see how calm other people are😂

Catlitter1 · 21/02/2021 17:49

Me-Hi son did you have good day? Son(Pre COVID and at school) ‘thanks mum it was ok’.
Me-can you hang up your jacket, please
Son-I’m just in give me a minute
Me-please it would really help me
Son-ok will do it in a minute
Me-hangs up jacket, straightens shoes and follows him as he takes off school shirt so I can put in the washing because it’s been stressing me all afternoon I didn’t have quite enough for a white wash.

My life sucks.

Eminybob · 21/02/2021 17:49

Me! God yes, so impatient!
Can’t abide dilly-dallyers, especially in supermarkets.
And everything else in life.

Ilovecaviar · 21/02/2021 18:16

Yes! I’ve always been impatient and still am. Just can’t help it, want to get stuff done now and not a moment later!

RIBlue · 21/02/2021 18:41

Yes, mostly with strangers (I’ve trained myself to smile sweetly with family and friends whilst screaming internally) and particularly in supermarkets. Supermarkets are not a leisure activity, why do people walk so slowly, choose so slowly, unload on to the checkout so slowly, pack so slowly and then still seem to be surprised by the fact that they need to pay, surely you’ve had long enough to think about it!!! Sometimes it worries me that I can actually feel my breathing get quicker whilst watching them but mostly I just conclude that I’m superior.

Cindy87 · 21/02/2021 18:44

Yes I was just thinking today how impatient I am. I've been like it all my life. As in I walk ahead really fast and if I want something I want it yesterday.
