I cannot spit into this pot...

DH ordered a DNA kit off the internet and I assumed it would be a mouth swab. It is not. It is a tube with a mouthpiece on it and you have to spit into it until it reaches a certain level I am just disgusted by this and cannot bring myself to do it - is this normal or am I a weirdo?

I was also surprised when I did mine. My husband some how managed to spit in it once and fill his. It took me about 5 minutes to fill mine, I hid in the other room on my own. It is quite gross.

Huh? It's spit. Nothing weird about it. When you sign up to one of the bone marrow registries (can't remember which) it's the same procedure, I've done it, it wasn't difficult.
