Me and DH? I'm an NHS clinician. I have early starts and full in on days at work.
DH isn't working atm, so is homeschooling. On weekdays he's up ready for registration at 9am each day.
My DC's are 9 and 11. Capable of getting their own breakfast and are more than happy to play on their screens between 9-11am.
We're going out everyday for at least a couple of hours.
It's just so nice to be able to wake up slowly and then just stay in bed, messing on my phone, or having a snooze. I'm so appreciating my week off!

Good on you.

Enjoy

Yanbu. I'm a teacher, enjoying a lazy week too. DH keeps going on at me about using the time to get stuff done. I'm making sure to do something with the DC during the day, but I also like having the time to just read or watch a bit of TV. It's not like there's a great deal to go out and do, especially as the weather is rubbish and everything is swimming in mud.

You work in a very full-on job. Take the time to enjoy your rest.

YANBU.

I only get up because of the dog and the hens. And I'm not actually dressed yet.
Dcs are 15 & 18, don't usually surface before midday at the earliest. 15yo was making himself stir-fry when I went to bed at midnight.

I think earlier to bed would be better. So you can enjoy more of the daylight and perhaps the garden if it is a bit warmer on Friday and over the weekend.

I have a baby and a toddler, so I am positively dripping with envy!!!!

Enjoy your time off without a second thought. You deserve it.

YANBU I have 3 dc who are spending too much time on screens but I'm not worrying about it this week. I have a week off and haven't got out of bed before 9.30. It's lovely to sit back and not worry about work, schooling etc. Enjoy your week!

Darcy86 · 17/02/2021 13:36

I'm doing this too at the min...on maternity leave and due any day now! There's not much else to do is there 🤷‍♀️ you may as well enjoy it and relax if it's your week off.

LaceyBetty · 17/02/2021 13:45

YANBU. That is the reward for getting through the baby and toddler years!

RavingAnnie · 17/02/2021 13:51

Why would it not be ok? What a weird thread. Get up when you like! You are on holiday.

Crunchymum · 17/02/2021 13:55

I am off tomorrow and Friday (and my kids are younger) but there will be no alarms and no early morning duties for FOUR whole days

Older kids can stick a movie on, I'll bring toddler back in with me. Sorted!

I know I'll still be up by 8am but I am still looking forward to it Grin
