IKIABU as I am posting for traffic. But I am at a loss and hoping you very smart - and just as importantly - ‘seen everything’ women can help please

I’ve been feeling unwell for about 4 months. Started with extreme fatigue, nighttime nausea, frequent night urination and a pain in my abdomen on the lower right hand side.

It’s not a UTI, I have no infection, I’m not coeliac or pregnant, it’s not my appendix and my bloods show absolutely nothing remarkable - everything is normal and in fact better results than the last bloods I had 3 years ago.

I have had 3 sets of blood tests, a pelvic ultrasound and a chest and abdomen CT. They all show nothing.

The symptoms have continued. The pain in my side gets worse when I sit at a desk working for longer periods of time or after exercise. I have a slight inflammation (see pic) but doctors say there is nothing wrong. It doesn’t hurt to touch but this is mostly where the ache is.

I’ve tried stopping different foods (spicy, salty, caffeine) but no change.

Looking for ideas I guess as I don’t feel like me. I used to run 3/4 times a week and do workouts most days (ok- not my whole life but stepped it up last year after I spent the first part of covid over eating and drinking). I lost 7kg carefully and steadily over a few months (and put some of that back on at Xmas!). Some days I just want to crawl back into bed

It’s not so bad it’s stopping me live my life or be there for the family but I’m sick of feeling sick and of not feeling like myself.

If you’ve any thoughts or ideas - I would gratefully appreciate you sharing. Thank you

@LoveHarry that sounds miserable, hope you find out what it is.

FWIW, some (but not all) of your symptoms sound a lot like mine were before a laparoscopy found I had extensive endometriosis.

Could it be diverticulitis? Although if it was bad I think that would show on a CT.

Firstly, I’m sorry you feel so shitty. It’s no fun she. You’re in pain all the time.
Can you feel any lumpy areas there? I’m thinking a hernia maybe?

LoveHarry · 14/02/2021 06:32

Thank you - appreciate the thoughts. The scans show nothing ‘structural’ they say. So everything looks normal, nothing inflamed. Also had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy where they took samples and biopsied them. All totally normal.

Endometriosis? That doesn’t show up on a scan even a transvaginal scan, unless cysts are present. The only way they can diagnose is by laparoscopy.

Looks like (and sounds like from your description of the pain) some kind of muscle problem. I’m far from medical so I can’t say what really. A muscle twist of some sort? Like a cramp that doesn’t go? It looks right on the muscle and you have big muscles there (I’m sure my abdominal muscles are somewhere Wink ) but yours are quite defined so I think a muscle injury maybe. Keep on at the docs though. Try hot and cold alternatively on the area for relief and if it’s helpful then it’s likely a muscle thing (but keep at your doc for answers though)
