To get a weekend job

In a nutshell, DP and I have not been affected by coronavirus work-wise. We're keyworkers, working from home at the moment. Homeschooling our 2 DC's as well. Travel costs and childcare costs are nil right now so we've been saving like mad.

We discussed taking on extra work to boost our income as we're renting but saving to buy our own home. We're so close.

I've seen part time jobs I could apply for but my conscience is playing with me. We don't need the extra money to pay bills. We live comfortably whilst saving. I constantly wonder whether if we get an extra part time job, we'll be taking it away from somebody who needs it more.

I work with people desperate to work. I know its a dog eat dog world at the moment. I'd appreciate your opinions.

It’s possible to get too hung up on feeling guilty, you know.

Can’t you side hustle the money? You won’t be left with that much after tax from what weekend work is available.

Sell on eBay, do matched betting, do surveys

Do it. Don’t feel guilty if you get one...best ones for the job and all that. Don’t burn yourself out tho x

I've been successful at 2 interviews so far. Each time, the interviewer has mentioned previous applicants who would have been successful but are not in work. That was the only issue that stopped them hiring them over me. For what its worth, it's PA work with disabled people wanting to access the community independently.
