Josh caused her so much pain, he slept with her at camp even though he was with Valencia, he treated Valencia like crap and Rebecca at the same time, he moved in with her when he broke up with Valencia and treat her like a motel.
He proposed on a whim and left her at the alter.
They never made sense as a couple. At all.

Greg the alcoholic who was obsessed with her then went cold when he got her, got so drunk and abandoned her at the wedding for months. Ran off for 2 years, they got back together but he could even muster an ounce of happiness for her so they split again.
They were a terrible couple.

Nathaniel did everything for her. They only broke up because she felt herself becoming obsessive with him, it was always her bpd that stopped her. He changed and became a lovely and kind man and never wavered with telling her he loved her.

If it was anyone, then yeah, Nathaniel. But props to them for taking a different route with Rebecca focusing on herself. What a series!

Josh did cause her way too much pain to ever be able to get over. I don't know that it's fair to judge him too harshly for sleeping with her while in a relationship at 16 though. Moving in with her when he didn't want to actually be with her was appalling and unforgivable.

As I remember it, Greg went slightly cold due to stupid Hector getting in his head, saying he should be in control now or something equally ridiculous. He didn't go cold because he didn't want her now he had her.
At the wedding, he saw her talk to Josh and looking emotional. Then he asks her if something happened while he was gone and she lied, surely she should have said "your friend just came over and said you're no good for me".
After that, after Greg finally says sorry for being a bit of an arse with the dancing, that silly event came on with Josh and the other groomsmen dancing within 5 seconds of them starting to dance and Rebecca starting to enjoy herself with Greg and vice versa. Then Josh, the idiot, just stares at her like she has broken his heart and she of course stares back, right in front of Greg. Greg then goes off and gets drunk. I would have done the same at that point.
He then disappears to get himself off the drink, something he had to do because he drove hungover the next morning to go tell her he loved her. Not that she cared at that point, she had just slept with Josh and was obsessing about how to sort out the mess she made when she told him afterwards that she moved there for him.
Sure, he was cranky at raging waters but that's just him. That's who he is.

Nathaniel was the one I wanted her to end up with up until the episode where she went on a date with all three. Before that I was all about Nathaniel.
At the garage when Greg and her were talking about ordering food, the way he looked at her while she was looking at the menu and says "Hey, you're the love of my life. You know that right?" just did it for me. Greg was the one. Sarcastic, insecure, self destructive Greg had finally grown up and was ready to be completely and utterly vulnerable with her.

And yes, I have watched it several times and yes I am far too invested. But Greg is everything!

I love Nathaniel. Also liked Greg. I've only just got the songs out of my head so I hope this doesn't bring them all back...

Oh god, I loved this series so much! I really wanted Rebecca and Nathaniel to end up together but the ending they went with felt very satisfying

But Mumsnet would say that people don't really change. So if Nathaniel once arranged to get Josh's Dad arrested then that behaviour would never be far below the surface.

Much as I thought he was lovely, I think his true colours would have surfaced again eventually.

Similar Greg - miserable bastard, she would be posting on here about him sulking on days out with the kids etc.

Josh - was just never that in to her.

They were right to leave her with none of them for her own sake.

Although I think the end with them all competing for her was unrealistic - she was a lying cheating nightmare and no good for any of them either.

I definitely agree the ending was nice, it was good to see her happy and focused on herself.
disclaimer I have bpd and felt this series so much!
Would've been nice to do an extra episode or a flash forward 5 years to see her happily married (to Nathaniel!) and successful.

I just finished it today! I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve already gone right back to the start.

I would never have thought it when he first came into the show, but I think I agree with you - Nathaniel is my favourite and I would have liked Rebecca to pick him. I thought it would be Greg (which would have been ok).

I really would have hated it it she ended up with Josh though - they are totally unsuited. It manifests itself in different ways, but I think the basic problem is that Josh is not intelligent enough for Rebecca, and once the lust wore off I’m not sure she would have respected him.

I would really have liked Darryl and White Josh to end up together though. I guess that as WJ didn’t want a baby it was good and realistic that they split up though.

And I think that’s what is good about the show too - a lot of it is fantasy, but there is that realism too. Biggest example is Rebecca actually having a serious mental illness rather that just being cutely “crazy.”

What series is this?

I loved this series, but they lost me when they brought back Greg and he wasn't the right Greg, he was the wet blanket from Pitch Perfect. Bah!

I was v much team Nathaniel for all the reasons you said (and also because, handsome). But I liked the ending!
