Ivf. 42 and low ovarian reserve

Posting for traffic. Little response on ivf forum.

Baseline scan says 4 follicles. Doc says we can proceed. Is it possible that more will appear during stims? I’m doing round 2 of 3 cycles. Last cycle retrieved 3 eggs and none made it through to day 5. I’m worried I’m wasting a cycle with such low numbers but equally concerned that 4 is as much as I’m going to get. I’m well aware that I’m facing poor odds. Any positive stories?

Oh best of luck. I had 8 follicles baseline and 14 after 9 days of stims. They got 12 eggs. Good luck xx

Yes. I was successful with both attempts and now have an 18 and a 13 year old. I had very few eggs on both attempts. Something like 4 eggs on the first and 2 on the second. Certainly didn't have any to freeze.
Even got ohss with the first despite so few eggs . I was 41 when I had ds2 so getting on a bit.
