We only heard so much before because he was the biggest gobshite on the planet.

Pipersouth · 09/02/2021 23:42

Search Americast on BBC sounds or Spotify (or wherever else you get your podcasts) and you can hear what’s going on. I really enjoyed it during the election and it helps to have a number of Commentators to see different points of view.

BritWifeinUSA · 09/02/2021 23:45

You can always ask us that live here.

Lockheart · 09/02/2021 23:47

You weren't hearing about the USA before. You were hearing about Trump.

NiceGerbil · 09/02/2021 23:57

I'm still seeing a fair bit of US in the news.

What I find more annoying is that since covid we get very little world news on the BBC. It's covid covid covid Brexit.

All the other stuff- Syria, refugees from Burma, all sorts of stuff is just gone. The BBC main news is 90% UK.

On the rolling news channels, sky and Al Jazeera are good if you want s bit more of a global view, especially the latter.

thepeopleversuswork · 09/02/2021 23:57

We're hearing about it today: the impeachment is all over the news.

HeddaGarbled · 10/02/2021 00:00

I’m seeing plenty in the newspapers and online news. I suppose it depends where you go to get your news.

Five67Eight · 10/02/2021 00:15

Yes, of course we’re still seeing US news. It’s the Us, after all.

But I totally get what you mean, OP

The incessant shock jock crap that was emanating daily from the White House is gone, and it’s a such a relief.

Californiabakes · 10/02/2021 00:16

I was just thinking that tonight

And yet we still dont hear much about European countries from the media. Yes, they like to talk about the EU, but rarely about politics/elections in individual countries e.g. elections coming up in Germany this year and yet very few people would be able to explain tell you the name of the parties or who might be running.
