Asking for money from friend

Hate doing this! Friend C had some good news, so friend B asked if I wanted to get something for C. B got busy so didn't sort anything so I sorted a gift and asked if she liked it and would be happy to go halves - she agreed, a week ago.

I got round to buying said gift yday and emailed her, no response, fine as she has been busy. Gift has arrived and we have been thanked. I don't want to chase but equally the money would be handy (£35 each), how long do I leave to ask?

Just send a breezy WhatsApp. Hi Sue, glad Lisa loved the gift, it looked really fab. Can you transfer me over your half? Thanks, speak soon.

I agree, send a WhatsApp to them both with bank details.

Yup send a whatsapp saying 'Hey, so great she loved the gift. Can you send me the money asap please? Needed this month! x' attach bank details x

Just be upfront about it, i would message something like 'Hey, so pleased that C liked the gift, great choice. Can I just get you to double check the bank details I sent for your half as I haven't received it yet, and the payment has already left my account for the gift.'' then send a pic of the bank details with an X, hopefully that should get things moving x

So annoying that you have to ask. I would be mortified if this was me. Agree with others, send a message and see what happens. Good luck!

Chase it up and do not give in!

It’s fine to remind her she owes you still. Resend you bank details. However, it seems like she wasn’t too busy to make the suggestion but too busy to order, now it seems she’s also too busy to send you the money.
Was she aware it was a £70 gift you were ordering?
