bad credit

Hello I feel very depressed as I cant get a mortgage due to my bad credit score which came from.mistakes made years ago and I'm.too old to put it right.
I am currently in rental but want out.
I will be getting around 30k inheritance so would have used some as a deposit then took a small mortgage but now I dont know what to do.
Please go easy on.me I'm quite upset.
Anybody been in this situation and have any ideas.

As others have said - contact a broker. Yes you pay a fee but they will be able to find a suitable product. I used one and only paid once we agreed the mortgage.

Two other things to consider:
Short term due to poor credit you may have to pay more interest but once the defaults drop off you can remortgage.

How many defaults are we talking about? I had one for an overdraft and I raised a complaint to the bank. I was in a very dark place with my marriage and huge stresses. Most of the overdraft was fees and they agreed my appeal and removed the default. If you don't ask - you don't get.
