To expect a call back after interview

Posting here for traffic. On Thursday I interviewed for a job, part time. They said they would make a decision and call everyone the next day. I heard nothing on Friday and nothing today. It’s obvious I haven’t got the job but should I send them an email following up as they definitely said they would call

I would wait a little bit longer to be fair.

Something might have come up where the people making the decision have not yet had a chance to discuss choices. Alternatively they may haver offered it to someone but not wanted to say No to you because you may be second in line and if that person declines they will offer it to you. The reality is it hasn't even been 2 working days yet. Mayb on Wednesday you could call and ask if a decision has been made yet and if sunsuccessful ask for feedback.

Far too early. Give it at least a week to follow up. It's been one day since the interviews.

Define no's tend to get a call really quickly. The fist choice also gets a call quickly. The 2nd option is normally the last to hear as you often won't get a call until the first choice has either accepted or rejected

They will be waiting to hear back from the first choice. You may still have a chance as the wait implies the first choice has not accepted immediately.

This was exactly my thought. Give them a week or so. Firat choice might turn it down then its yours

It used to be like that but in recent years more & more often unsuccessful candidates are just ignored, not even an email. I've been to 3-stage interviews in the past where nobody has bothered to get back to me to say I haven't got the job Sad
