I'm doing the mental health one - so far I'm on question 15 but there are quite a few sub questions so have done 36! Even doing 6 a day ( which I'm.struggling with as am.juggling home schooling with ) I can't see how the heck I'm going to manage the 70 plus questions (!with subheadings) in just three weeks. ( Only 2 left ). Anyone else doing the same?

I'm doing the Counselling one, it's really interesting. I submitted booklet 1 a couple of days ago and started reading the second booklet yesterday.

I have written all the questions out and have them in front of me to refer to as I'm reading. I make brief notes as I'm going so when I come to answer the questions I've already done the thinking part so just have to type my answers.

Frickssake · 07/02/2021 17:08

Is it level 2? Did you type out a paragraph for each one? Are there sub paragraphs? I think you've done REALLY well if you've done 70 questions plus the sub questions using paragraphs and explanations in 6 days! Wow

Sorry, no, I didn't finish booklet 1 in 6 days, I had 3 weeks and Iit took me just over 2 weeks although I didn't work on it every day.

Yes it's a level 2 course.

Some questions needed a paragraph or more to answer but some just a sentence, it depends on the wording of the question.

I did the counselling one last year, but it seems like your timeline allowed is really short? I did counselling between August and December last year. I currently am doing 2 more at the same time right now, one is Jan to June and the other is Jan to April
Perhaps you are delving too deep into it, level 2 does not expect huge details or lots and lots of independent research. I almost exclusively used the material provided with a small amount of independent reading. I do mean small, my friend was doing it at the same time and was doing lots of independent work and the tutor said it was great but really not necessary

I have done both the mental health and the counselling as well as another one (our workplace offered them free as cheap CPD), and have also taught Cache for several years. They really do not expect a huge amount. Make sure you know what the question is asking (e.g. identify, describe, explain). Identify really is as simple as a sentence. Lots of the questions are repetitive. That does seem like a short time frame - recommend time frame for these qualifications is 8-12 weeks?

lockdownalli · 07/02/2021 19:54

The MH one is far more challenging in terms of workload than the Counselling one.

Three books rather than two and really rather repetitive and requiring more detailed answers. Why do you only have three weeks to do it? It's a 12 week qualification I thought? When I taught it it was anyway.

PyjamaFan · 07/02/2021 20:47

I have 3 weeks for each booklet then more time to correct if needed.

Snowsnowglorioussnow · 07/02/2021 22:00

It's very basic, they only expect a few sentences, then a few paragraphs...

Snowsnowglorioussnow · 07/02/2021 22:01

There should be a study guide, you literally regurgitation what's there Back in your in words.

I did a level 2 cache but not on MH. It is equivalent to a GCSE so when I submitted my first assignment I was told I was writing at degree level and to not dumb down my work per se but to reduce the content. My tutor showed me what another student submitted and I was surprised by the shortness. From then on I followed that format.

Are there any examples online? I found some on a forum for when I did another cache for SEND in schools as I was struggling with addressing how to help a blind child in PE which was an example. I had no idea so googled it.

I did the mental health one, and it was a lot of reading but the answers were all in the material.
