To wear my false eyelashes to bed

Kind of an AIBU slash stealth boast. I finally after many attempts over many years finally attached false eye lashes... to a reasonable standard i have nothing to compare it to

I'm going to do it. I didn't spend all 55 frustrated minutes fiddling with glue to whip them off straight away!

Has anyone slept with them in? What should I expect when I wake? Hairy teeth? Grin

No idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if you wake in the night with itchy eyes. I went to sleep in mascara one night this week and that's what happened to me. You may be made of sterner stuff though!

They’ll get crushed and never look the right shape and fluffy again. I’ve wasted many good lashes passing out after a night out in them at uni.

It's what Barbara Cartland would want.

I've slept in them before and still had them perfectly in place afterwards Smile

I’m afraid I would use this as a valuable lesson if I CAN DO THIS! and then not manage it for another five times. Definitely take them off so you don’t crush them and also can wash your face!

Lovingmusicrightnow · 07/02/2021 00:42

Mixed bag of reviews, I'm gonna do it! If I wake in as good nick as Barbara Cartland I'll be delighted Wink

If you sleep on your side or stomach they'll bend out of shape and not be nice, if you sleep on your back you'll be ok. ...However, do be prepared to wake up and think there is a huge spider on your pillow if one of them fall off, lol 😫

Sparklesocks · 07/02/2021 01:35

There’s a small risk that one of them goes rogue and you wake up in the morning to find a small caterpillar-like friend on your pillow Grin

It's not something I would advocate, for a start how will you cleanse the eye area without disturbing the lashes?

Btw the best tip someone gave me for applying lashes is to put the glue on the lashes, then let the glue dry for a minute or two before applying to the lashline. If it is slightly tacky then it will adhere more easily without sliding around on the eye.

Lovingmusicrightnow · 07/02/2021 07:08

The lashes have survived the night Grin

I know, it's in the instructions on the box Wink

@Lovingmusicrightnow false eyelashes look ridiculous. Why do you want to look like a pantomime dame?

Lovingmusicrightnow · 07/02/2021 12:04

Criagert

I used to agree. I've gone into shops and the lady serving looks like she is about to take off if she blinks too hard. But I've also seen ladies who wear natural ones and they actually looked quite nice.

I'm currently a big unwashed mess in old jammys, finally got the babies off to sleep, and collapsed into an armchair with a coffee. But feel super sexy with my lashes on Grin

How adverse are you to waking up and thinking there is a big, hairy spider on your pillow?

Just because you got away without the fright of a lifetime once, it doesn't mean you will next time.... Grin

It would probably end me! I nearly died a death before Christmas. I was folding washing and a tea towel fell out the basket revealing lots of dark legs. I nearly hit the ceiling, frightened my LO's and left it lying in a heap, half kicked under the table until DP got home. Turned out to be a bit tinsil Blush

I took them off about an hour ago. They're surprisingly still in shape, but it's probably best I don't risk it again Grin
