New dishwasher dismay

IKEA Dishwasher stopped working, it's pretty old and has had several repairs, each time out of action for a couple of weeks before it could be repaired. As we're all at home, for every meal, the prospect of all that washing up was too much, so we ordered a new one for collection the following day, from IKEA again as we knew the door would fit ok.

Very long story short, it turned out it wasn't ready for collection the following day, or the one after that and, after literally 5 hours in total on hold listening to Abbas Greatest Hits, we eventually got the dishwasher installed a week later.

Used it once, great, sparkly dishes. But now it won't bloody close. It's an airdry one with flimsy looking plastic 'diamond' latch and the latch isn't latching. We got it working last night by turning it off at the mains for 15 minutes (after I'd emptied the thing and washed up everything by hand..) but now it won't close again.

Google says it needs to be level - it is, in every direction - spirit level confirmed. Hasn't changed position since it worked lat night.

Does anyone else have a dishwasher with this mechanism and can tell me what we're doing wrong? I can't face a minute more on hold to IKEA...

Is there a trouble shooting guide on any paperwork?

Mine isn't an Ikea one but sounds identical and had an identical problem when it was brand new a few months ago. Although mine seems to have settled down now I have noticed that it will not close until a while after the cycle has finished. Its almost like it has an issue with the heat inside that stops it from shutting and once it has cooled down it behaves itself

@royalbloo I've read the whole thing and only mention of door issue is it might not be level or recently finished.

@Smudge18 interesting. Dw is cold, finished last night. Think it's a common feature for Electrolux, AEG, John Lewis, whirlpool etc. Annoyingly, I don't even want the air-dry feature as it's already ruining worktop after 2 runs...
