My son is 6 and although hasn’t been the best sleeper as a baby and toddler by the age of 5 we had a good thing, bedtime at 7.30 and sleep all night until 6.30... then lockdown (number 1) happened - back to waking through the night and calling out, not going to sleep unless one of us got into bed with him. I thought it was a short phase and like before would just start sleeping well again... foolish. Months later and he wakes every night calling out, will not sleep until I get into bed.
We have tried all sorts including the tough approach, calmly does it, sleep consultant, reward chart, bribery ... nothing really helps so it seems to be habit that he’s not even aware of when you ask him in the morning why he’s calling.
Can I be dramatic and claim lockdown has ruined my sons sleep forever and he will be calling out in the middle of the night every night until the day he moves out?
