To ask if I'm BU by asking this

Myself and my husband usually mark Valentine's Day with a card ect and then we will organise a night out around the date but obviously that isn't going to happen this year. I still want to do something so I thought I'd cook us a meal, bought new lingerie and a few nice bits.
With lockdown and homeschooling both dh and I haven't got dressed up in ages. I tend to live in leggings and tops when I'm home with dc as it's easier and dh will wear tracksuit botttoms with his work shirt as no one can see.
I suggested we make an effort next week and dress up a bit I'm not talking over the top just make an effort but was shut down very quickly. Now this is where I'm wondering if I'm bu but I feel disappointed I've planned a nice meal, bought the underwear and all I asked was he put on jeans instead of the joggers he lives in night and day.

Difficult one really. I can totally see where you are coming from and it’s lovely you have gone to all this effort to make it special.

But I would feel awkward myself getting dressed up just to stay in, so I would probably feel the same as your husband (tho I might go along with the suggestion anyway to avoid hurting my partner’s feelings).

YANBU.
Familiarity can breed contempt ... you should write that in his card! Grin

Sorry, but I don't have plans to dress up on Valentines Day. Neither does my husband.
But that's just us.

YANBU. We've been punctuating this tedium with "special" meals on every occasion we can think of, and dressing up to a greater or lesser degree for each - DH at least wearing a shirt. It just doesn't feel special if the person opposite you is wearing their gardening clothes.

YANBU a bit of a change can be refreshing in the current climate. Making the effort to dress up for a special night isn't a big ask.

Me and OH did it for our anniversary in lockdown no 1 and it was lovely to just feel a bit nicer and romance each other for the evening.
