Need to know how Present Pets unbox themselves

DD just got a Present Pet.

You pull the plastic tag and it inboxes itself from the inside.

It was awesome.

But I can't figure out how it works.

There are plastic hearts which have rings on the back which is obvs where the packaging is ripped but I can't tell what hooked into them to rip them!

And there's a motor as well but what does the pulling and ripping from the inside?? Other than the magnificent Princess who has been yapping since 530am this morning.

ghastly name and idea - normalises the idea of pets as gifts / toys rather than sentient beings.

Yes, I had better throw away all her stuffed toys.

Oh and her dolls as obviously that trivialises children as throw away things.
Hmm
