Luxurious carpet help

Hi. Looking for thick soft carpet, want that luxurious feel that doesn't fade over time when walked on. We bought thick pile for upstairs, within months the areas that are most walked on went flat. I know that's inevitable due to the weight applied daily. Surely there must be something that is able to maintain itself

isense is very soft feel, is the softness maintained or will it very quickly start going flat?

I think you've posted in the wrong section OP, this is AIBU.

Same problem we have had some real bad luck with these lately.

This is a good one we had at my old house;

However when we moved we brought the wool twist look version of it and that's been crap.

We bought a carpet for our stairs a few months ago. We looked at a thick pile the manager said for the stairs I wouldn't go thick as it will flatten and will be noticeable. So we picked a shorter one and so far no change.
So for something that is walked on a lot I would go for a shorter pile

Shorter piles just don't feel soft on the feet, or have that cushion feel.
It's annoying, you pay so much and they just go flat!

Shorter pile with better underlay.
