To think that breasts shouldn't be this heavy?

ItsNotAlrightButItsOkay · 04/02/2021 11:36

I swear if I weighed them they'd be a kilo each!
I am a size 36F. I can't seem to find a bra where my breasts don't feel like they will fall through it.

AIBU? Is anyone else's like this?
Can anyone recommend a bra! M&S is no good for me or supermarkets!

That sounds like a fair weight for that size.

Have you tried Bravissimo? I find M&S and supermarkets poor for larger sizes.
Panache, Freya, Fantasie are good for larger sizes.
I find moulded shapes good and supportive. Obv lacier/thinner fabrics will be less so.

Also are you sure you are wearing the right size? Try booborbust.

MrsMoastyToasty · 04/02/2021 11:56

I wear Fantasie. They don't tend to use elastic in the fabric of the upper part of the cup and the elastic in the straps is pretty robust.

Weirdfan · 04/02/2021 11:57

Another shout for Boob or Bust, there's a Facebook group with instructions how to measure and lots of advice about which styles will fit your shape best.

ItsNotAlrightButItsOkay · 04/02/2021 11:59

Thank you for replying @Palavah

I am not 100% sure that I'm wearing the right size really. Sometimes they over spill.
I do wear T-shirt bras so full cup and padded. Just can't find the right bra to keep them up 100% of the time.

I haven't heard of half of those shops so I'll go and have a look. Thank you.

Try figleaves.com. They currently have a sale on and do loads of brands for bigger busts.

ItsNotAlrightButItsOkay · 04/02/2021 12:00

@MrsMoastyToasty that's what I need, robust. Haha.

@Weirdfan thank you. I'll get looking.

Boob or bust to measure then I wear pretty secrets. I buy them new on eBay. I’m a 36K

Plump82 · 04/02/2021 12:02

Im the same size. I wear Royce bras. They're not underwired but give great support and are comfy!

Pinkfreesias · 04/02/2021 12:08

I'm a 34G and the only bra I've ever found that I feel really does hold me up well and give me shape is the Charnos Everyday bra. I think it's not made any more, though, as I can only really find it on eBay. New, of course!

It's becoming vanishingly rare in my size so I need to find an alternative. Something with rigid fabric cups, full cup, side support and unpadded. And not lacy! I hate seeing the lace through my clothes.

Ginfordinner · 04/02/2021 12:13

It sounds like you need a smaller band and bigger cup size. The recommendations everyone has given are good. I can't even weigh mine as they are too small Sad

10kaDay · 04/02/2021 12:14

Same size, Fantasie are the best bras for me (Panache & Freya also ok).

M&S sports bras (but not normal bras also good) - the underwired high impact are v comfortable & look somewhat like a normal bra, I often wear for a day at home (shape is a bit flat but the fabric is v comfortable)

The reason I like Fantasie bras the best is both the design/construction & also they use stronger fabric so the bras are more durable - possible 10-20% more expensive vs Panache/Freya but are actually indestructable & give good support for years which is rare at this size. My personal favourite for shape is Fantasie Elodie. I buy from Bravissimo/House of Fraser/Figleaves

10kaDay · 04/02/2021 12:15

@Pinkfreesias: try Fantasie for side support bras (think the one is Alex. My beloved Elodie is made of lace). I promise I don't work for them Grin

rbe78 · 04/02/2021 12:16

Yep, second Bravissimo, Figleaves etc. Sadly, M&S-price bras just don't cut it above a DD cup :-(

When we're allowed again, try to get to a Bravissimo for a fitting - nearly everyone who hasn't been fitted is in the wrong size. I would hazard a guess that your band size is 32/34, and your cup size is somewhere from and FF to an H.

10kaDay · 04/02/2021 12:17

@ItsNotAlrightButItsOkay: the 'band' should not move/slip when you are wearing the bra. It shouldn't stop you breathing but if you can stick fingers underneath its too loose. If you have a 'red mark' on your bra line it means its moving around & too loose

SoupDragon · 04/02/2021 12:21

If you have a 'red mark' on your bra line it means its moving around & too loose

Or too tight, surely?

timeforachange33 · 04/02/2021 12:22

I felt like this when wearing a 36DD, I then measured myself properly and am actually a 32GG, I don't have any problems now.

If the triangle ish bit of the bra (bit that separates your boobs) doesn't sit close to your skin then you are wearing the wrong size.

DaphneBridgerton · 04/02/2021 12:25

Try a Bravado Body Silk bra - you can get them on ASOS or John Lewis. I was a 34DD and now that I'm pregnant my boobs are so huge and heavy it was awful until I found these bras. They're maternity bras but I'm sure they do non-maternity ones and either way who cares if they're comfortable right? Honestly can't even feel I'm wearing them and they're so supportive.

PlinkPlink · 04/02/2021 12:30

Yeah same, i had that heavy feeling when I wasn't wearing the right size.

I'm a 32K atm.
Usually a 32GG... I feel for you and your boob pain.

PlinkPlink · 04/02/2021 12:31

I get mine from bravissimo usually.

I've also got one from Boux Avenue.

FTEngineerM · 04/02/2021 12:35

Another vote for Freya!! They’re fab albeit expensive. I’m a 36GG and I’ve never felt so snug. Bought their nursing bra and even that’s more supportive than any other I’ve had. They really are cracking.

haba · 04/02/2021 12:42

Fantasie side support are fantastic, and I find them very comfortable.

Redruby2020 · 04/02/2021 12:45

Hi @ItsNotAlrightButItsOkay I feel your pain! I have always been big busted despite losing weight, though of course they did go down a bit, but stayed within a certain cup size.
I am a bigger cup size than you, so also struggling to find bras I like. Especially annoying during the last year where it has been impossible to get to somewhere for a fitting and to shop around.
I usually bought from Debenhams or M&S. it's hard getting the double cup sizes too I.e GG.
I agree with another poster, are you sure you are wearing the right size? How does the band around you feel?
I thought it might be slightly easier with high street stores as you are only an F, and most places I have looked in go up to a G.

Fieldofyellowflowers · 04/02/2021 13:01

Bravissimo are really good. More expensive than supermarkets but really good quality. They use the official sizes. Supermarket cup sizes are often smaller. E.g. a Tesco's size F is probably closer to a size E.
