After a couple of catch ups it became obvious that we had absolutely nothing in common. Nothing at all. Lockdown reduced our contact to messages only.
The messages frustrate the shit out of me.
She doesn't ever actually want to chat. She just wants to talk at me and tell me stupid things. I have tried in the earlier stages to engage some kind of conversation, but as soon as she has said what she wants to say...she is gone. Silent until she wants to update me on some stupid shit again. I no longer initiate conversations and haven't for months now because of it.
Her latest updates are nothing more than her telling me her shifts. I have no need or reason to know, yet she feels the need to tell me.
Before this, it would be things like "im sitting in the garden" or "I hate the cold"
I initially thought this was just how she started conversations and thought nothing of it. Until I realised she had nothing else to say on the matter.
Her: hi how are you
Me: I'm good thanks. Hows you?
Her: fine. Working tonight but not tomorrow. Sleep there on Friday and go home on Saturday then off for 3 days.
Me: oh nice. At least you get a break in there. Any plans for your time off?
Radio silence until next update. Which at the minute consists of her shifts still.
In person was not much better.
YABU - she just wants to talk.
YANBU - it would annoy me too
