@Coffeep

My manager dropped me an email saying I am being moved to another team and
Don't know what happened. In have been with my employer for 12 years. I moved to my current manager 7 months ago. She is now moving me out of her team but aside from an email she hasn't spoken to me at all to tell me why etc. The new role isn't ideal for me and i am doing the type of work I did 10 years ago. The manager has lots of new work comming into her team so its not as if there is a lack of work. I am just feeling annoyed that i wasn't more involved. I am minded to drop her email setting out my thoughts but I guess this might come back to might me. I dont know. I explained to her that i was having a hard time with homeschooling the kids so i wasn't expecting to be moved.

I think this should be a phone call not a further email correspondence. You should call if your manager is a coward and not prepared to speak to you directly about this. Sending an email should be to confirm a conversation, not the starting point.

Doing work you did ten years ago is so disheartening. Does it come with the same pay though? Depending on where you are at, and where you want to go, career-wise, are you willing to let it slide? I agree that it shouldn't have been done without a conversation.
