A 9 year old with MH issues having a tantrum

Doesn't need to be handcuffed, thrown on an snowy floor dragged through the snow and then pepper sprayed.

These officers did nothing to de-escalate the situation. When she was cold from the snow they acted like she deserved it. Where is the duty of care. Where is the basic compassion an adult should feel for a child. She was screaming for her dad and not once did I hear an adult say they would get or even attempt to get her dad. They treated a child like an animal. This makes me sick to my stomach. This is a 9 year old girl.

I saw it on SkyNews, had to stop watching. Unbelievable, horrible, I didn't know it was a 9 year old. I have a just turned 8 year old and I feel sick thinking about it.

Apparently 3 police officers have been suspended. Good.

That's appalling.

The pepper spray was terrible, no question about that, but the police officers do repeatedly say that they'll find the girl's dad if she gets into the car - you can hear this in the video from 2:10 onwards. Also, the girl's mother was there and she'd asked the officers to take the girl away because the girl was threatening to kill her.
