Self employed PA/Care worker (paid) to direct payment holders.
Currently working remotely and distantly to support clients due to shielding household member.

Offered vaccine booking as qualifies in tier 2

YABU - don’t get vaccine, wait for tier 6 (unpaid carer) continue remote support

YANBU - get vaccine and return to closer work, with PPE etc.

Northernlass99 · 02/02/2021 17:20

Get it. The more people done in the care sector the better.

ErickBroch · 02/02/2021 17:20

I am so confused with the scenarios. Why wouldn't you?

tazzy73 · 02/02/2021 17:22

Get the vaccine.
I got my 2nd dose today. Hoping to get some sort of normality soon.
You never know what might happen if you waited till Tier 6.

fleurbelle · 02/02/2021 20:12

I do the same job.
Vaccinated last week.

dangermouseisace · 02/02/2021 20:33

BenoneBeauty · 02/02/2021 21:09

Get the vaccine - why wouldn't you?!

HelloDulling · 02/02/2021 21:13

I’d get the vaccine and go back to work. But I want to be protected, and I hate remote working. You may feel differently.

Zarinea · 02/02/2021 21:14

Surely it's offered to you because it's best for everyone that you get it? I don't understand the dilemma.

m0therofdragons · 02/02/2021 21:15

If you are offered the vaccine take it. The booking system is a logistical nightmare so offering it then turning it down means the booking officer has to make another call to fill that slot and note that you haven’t had it but want it offered in the future. Getting it when first offered actually makes like easier and speeds up the roll out! Don’t get me started on those who don’t turn up for booked appointments - so, so many!

SnackSizeRaisin · 02/02/2021 21:20

You are not an unpaid carer so I don't see why you would qualify under tier 6? If the family want you to go back to face to face working I would just get vaccinated and do it. If you are not going back to direct contact as a carer I would wait until it is offered to the general population in your age group.

Ameliablue · 02/02/2021 21:37

Get the vaccine but that doesn't mean you need to go back to work straight away if you are living with someone shielding in. My main reason for this is that your have been offered in tier 2 so you will already be factored into calculations for that point and if you decline I don't know that you would get called again when tier 6 is called.
