To consider this business

I’ve long since wanted to channel my inter entrepreneur somewhere and have wanted to build out a subscription box business for a while.

I’m full time employed with some cash behind me so this isn’t a “stick with your day job” question but rather wanting feedback on my idea.

I’m considering an accessories subscription box for those ladies who like to experiment with new jewellery, head bands, scarves etc. Every month it would include 3 accessories sourced from independent UK sellers and the box you receive would be based on you indicating your accessory style ie. understated//funky. It would come with a card that suggested how best to style your items.

Given my target audience is adult women (I know I’ll be targeting a niche in this) I thought I’d ask here.

I’m a buyer already and very creative so this is something I’d like to explore.

I quite like it. How would returns work? I know that for most of the clothing subscription boxes you only pay for what you keep, but presumably people couldn’t return earrings to you due to hygiene?

What is the price point you’re imagining? It might take some research to find the sweet spot where it’s affordable but the accessories aren’t cheap tat.

I like subscription boxes generally and haven’t come across an accessories one so I think it has potential.

Maybe the returns (good point on hygiene) could be dealt by having a choice online. Kind of like with food boxes. So wvery month, or 3, people get access into a shop and see what was chosen for them. They may swap something and add (upselling, innit).

Wouldd that work?
