www.spectator.co.uk/article/eight-shocking-moments-from-the-grenfell-tower-inquiry-in-2020 this article sums up really well how much deception and fraud went on in the cladding scandal and just how unfair it is to pass the costs on to ANYONE but the companies responsible.

UPDATE FROM UK CLADDING ACTION GROUP on government activity and why your individual efforts and support is so critical right now 🙏

LABOUR MOTION
This Labour motion on Monday calls on the Government to:
• urgently establish the extent of dangerous cladding and prioritise buildings according to risk;
• provide upfront funding to ensure cladding remediation can start immediately;
• protect leaseholders and taxpayers from the cost by pursuing those responsible for the cladding crisis..

Here is an automated MP email generator - literally all you have to do is enter your address and it does the rest. Simpler than ever before.

I am pregnant and now facing bankruptcy while the Tories screw over millions of leaseholders to keep their developer donors happy. Please help! I don’t want to raise a baby in an unsafe flat :(

Just sent it to my MP Thanks

TaraR2020 · 30/01/2021 20:44

Thank you for this!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 30/01/2021 20:47

Done. Good luck.

My MP’s voting record is usually the opposite of what I would want him to do, but perhaps this time he will do the right thing.

fastwigglylines · 30/01/2021 20:47

Done

fastwigglylines · 30/01/2021 20:47

That email template is really easy to use, took me seconds.

NommyChompers · 30/01/2021 20:49

@Gardenermumtobe @TaraR2020 thank you. I am far from the only person in this position.

I was unable to delay starting a family due to fertility issues so it’s totally being stuck in an impossible situation. No one wants to bring a baby into financial insecurity and unsafe housing. Just so stressful - feel I’m being punished for trying to get onto the housing ladder (it’s not like it’s a London penthouse!)

Signed and shared to a friend affected by this situation.

Radishesandcake · 30/01/2021 21:14

Thank you for sharing. Me and my dh and dc are also massively impacted by this situation. We're trapped in a too small, flammable flat that we can't sell because it's unmortgageable due to this scandal with no foreseeable solution or end to it.

Hollywhiskey · 30/01/2021 22:16

Done. My MP does the opposite of what I want but we can hope. Good luck.

SheilaWilcox · 30/01/2021 23:00

Thanks for sharing the link. Really easy to use. Sent to our MP.

DH & I have a flat that we rent out and don't currently know if we will be hit with a bill that we cause us to have to walk away with nothing. We put all of our savings into that flat to give us an income in our retirement. I'm scared we'll lose everything.

2020iscancelled · 30/01/2021 23:16

Done!

Dontlikeveg · 30/01/2021 23:37

Just sent it to my MP.
All the best

Whatifthisisit · 30/01/2021 23:54

Thanks for posting OP. Also stuck in an unsafe flat I cannot sell or move from. My estimated share of the bill is currently £60,000 for remediation works.

HumphreyCobblers · 31/01/2021 08:55

Done.

So sorry you are stuck in this situation. It is an absolute scandal.

BonnieDundee · 31/01/2021 11:42

Done. My MP is tory and usually toes the party line but not always. I do hope enough conservatives vote with labour to get this through

AntiHop · 31/01/2021 13:33

I will email my mp. I have two friends caught up in this. There is no way in the world that it is fair to pass these costs on to leaseholders. And it has been dragging on for too long.
