After a shit few days decided to order a takeaway on just eat.
The driver has just came to my door and had a flashlight it’s dark I get it so processed to flash it in my face and then say give me your money I just laughed and thought he didn’t realise that I had paid via the app so said that and he then said what no tip.
I always tip via the app also because I don’t keep money in the house and told him that.
He then took his phone out and took what I presume was a picture of me because it flashed in my face but then again he could have a torch on his phone.

Don’t know but just full delivery felt weird and no tip for him after shining lights in my eyes twice 🙈😂

Well I would complain. How rude give me the money!?? Like he is entitled to it?? Would he say that to a man

Aimee1987 · 29/01/2021 20:55

I would complain that sounds like very threatening behaviour.

I mean this is a complete side point but a tip is voluntary not compulsory and that sort of rudeness would result in me never tipping someone.

Dee261 · 29/01/2021 21:06

I am still thinking about the reason as to why he actual pulled out his phone and I am trying to convince myself that it was for a further torch but the more I think he definitely took a picture of me and have no idea why as well lockdown and working from home not used makeup for nearly a year 😂.

Was just a weird experience to have a flashlight and shine that right in my face to start with and then the comment about money and then the phone carry on ffs all I wanted was a Friday night chill after a shit week and got more fooking drama 🙈😂😂

What the fuck. I wouldn’t be laughing at that, it’s weird as fuck and threatening

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 29/01/2021 21:12

Really weird. I would complain.

Dee261 · 29/01/2021 21:14

@niveacreme I think I am nervous laughing if I am honest to try and make myself feel less worried about it all if I am honest when I am really the opposite.
I wish I had took my phone to the door and done the same back to him and seen how he felt.
The order showed that the driver was ready to collect the order for ages and then didn’t even show that he was on the way as it normally does so I didn’t expect a chap at the door because I didn’t think it was on its way yet and then when he arrived I get that he said 1st are you and my name I said yes and then that is when he put the flashlight in my face and made the money remark.

It could have been a joke that hasn't come across well. Nearly everyone is taking photos of deliveries, Iceland, Tesco, Amazon etc as well as food places.

Ponoka7 · 29/01/2021 21:20

There's also lots of reasons why the system wasn't showing the correct time frame for delivery.

Is this your first delivery in quite a while?

Dee261 · 29/01/2021 21:23

@Ponoka7 no not the 1st delivery in a while normally get lunch delivered most days always use just eat and never had any other driver do this.

OP posts:
niveacreme · 29/01/2021 21:35

I would definitely complain. What a prick

Dee261 · 29/01/2021 21:40

Yeah the more that I am actual sitting thinking about it was totally weird af!
I couldn’t say that I would be able to recognise him as he had fucking blinded me with a torch and then the flash on his phone 🤬.
I have just had the leave a review through from just eat so I am going to do it on that.
I don’t want to get anyone in trouble but at the same time he was a knob and why the fuck the pic as @Ponoka7 said this is something that is happening but up to tonight never happened to me.
Just weird the full way that he acted!

birdling · 30/01/2021 11:09

Perhaps the photo was so that the person he had delivered to wasn't able to claim that it hadn't been delivered correctly.
The money bit I would assume was a bad joke.

KrisAkabusi · 30/01/2021 11:38

The phone was to take a picture to prove he had delivered. Nothing weird there. Most companies do it now.

Dee261 · 30/01/2021 12:29

Thanks everybody, just never have it happened before and order most days through just eat maybe just different delivery driver do different ways who knows.

Yeah maybe just a bad joke about the money thing, shining a torch in my face who knows maybe just to make sure that I was a person and not an alien answering the door goodness knows.
See what happens when I order today if I have the same that photo as could be new in this area that they do this 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I've never tipped a delivery driver in my
Life , I'd tell him to his face there and then he was rude because he was !!
