To wonder how tf I got a cold?

I live alone. I've scarcely been out of the house since 4 Jan. When I've been shopping, I've worn a mask religiously. I am obsessive about handwashing/sanitising, wiping shopping, anti-bac'ing door handles etc.

Apart from a visit from my support bubble on 17 January, at which we kept well apart and had windows open, no-one has visited my home, and I haven't visited anyone else.

I went for a walk with a friend on Monday, but we were out in a brisk breeze the whole time and didn't touch or hug or anything and never got within 2 metres of one another. I had a brief conversation with NDN on Wednesday, but we were a good 3-4 metres apart.

So how the fuck did I get this stinking cold?

Other germs are available, always living in your home or on your skin just waiting for immunity to subside.

I wouldn't even bet on it being a cold. I have just tested positive for covid with classic mild cold symptoms! I feel fine except stuffed nose, mild headache and sneezing. Lots of people are testing positive with what is usually considered a cold.

Bloody hell, it would be weird if it was Covid. I think I had it last March, DP had classic Covid symptoms and was quite unwell, I had it much more mildly but lost my sense of smell for 6 weeks and my sense of taste for 2-3 weeks.

And I had my first Covid vaccination on Thursday of last week.

Maybe it's a reaction to the vaccination, but it's like a classic cold - sore throat, a bit achey and a streaming nose. No cough (yet).
