Does this look like my toddler got bitten?

My toddler has eczema which is what I thought this was initially. However, it appeared suddenly overnight and usually his eczema starts off as a small patch that grows over a few days, this is a really big patch for him. Then when I was putting his cream on, my partner came in the room and said it looks like a bite mark. I can’t stop seeing it now, and I’m genuinely questioning if his 3.5 year old sister has bitten him. They share a room and she can easily climb into his cot so would’ve had an opportunity to bite him but it’s not really in her nature to be aggressive at all (Usually it’s him hitting/pulling her hair and she’s not once retaliated, she just comes and tells me) and I didn’t hear him crying in their room at any point, so if she did bite him he didn’t even cry?
But the shape is SO much like a bite mark and appeared so suddenly. I’m just confused and really wanted some other opinions on what it looks like.
Bite mark = You are not being unreasonable
Eczema = You are being unreasonable

It looks too big to be a.childs bite? But no that looks like a form of rash to me not a bite mark

Brogues · 28/01/2021 18:30

Looks a bit wide for a bite mark but I can see what you mean.

Houseworkavoider · 28/01/2021 18:32

I wouldn’t think so.
Too wide and I would expect to see actual teeth marks.

bloodywhitecat · 28/01/2021 18:33

Looks like eczema to me, it is too round and wide to be a child's bite.

Birdsofafeather17 · 28/01/2021 18:33

It looks like impetigo

Idontknowausername · 28/01/2021 18:34

@Brogues

Looks a bit wide for a bite mark but I can see what you mean.
Yeah I did think it was too wide and she would’ve had to open her mouth really wide. I think I’m overthinking it tbh and it’s just a weirdly shaped eczema patch that threw me off🤦🏻‍♀️

Too big for a bite I think, though I can see why you thought so!
Take a look at the photos on this link and see what you think.

Not a bite

Agree that it looks like impetigo

bitliketonyhares · 28/01/2021 18:42

Not a bite a for sure. I think it may be a fungal infection though

Kinkybutkind · 28/01/2021 18:43

I’ve had eczema my entire life and it often manifests itself in circular patterns on my torso. That just looks like the centre is clearing up but the edges (which if it spreads outwards like mine does will be the newest stuff ) are the last to go away. It does look a bit “bite” like but you would probably see teeth marks if it was...

FiveToFour · 28/01/2021 18:44

I think it just looks like eczema but it also looks as if it might be infected.

MissMarpleDarling · 28/01/2021 18:48

Not impetigo (mine has had it 6 times), doesn't look like a bite. Looks like eczema.

MissMarpleDarling · 28/01/2021 18:50

Dont take my word that its defo not impetigo OP I'm not a dr just my opinion as my boy gets it reaccuring x

minniemango · 28/01/2021 18:51

Looks a bit like ringworm.

Idontknowausername · 28/01/2021 19:11

I don’t think it’s infected, it’s not oozy or smelly. It seems like it’s just eczema and I overthought it. Thank you for all your responses 😊

@Kinkybutkind my sons eczema is round aswell, is it called discoid eczema?

GreenSlide · 28/01/2021 21:28

Bite marks usually bruise, and it's an odd place for a bite. Pretty sure it's just a rash.

Stompythedinosaur · 28/01/2021 23:15

I agree, the two U shapes are too far apart to be a bite. I'd also expect to see graduated bruising with a bite.
