Travelling Abroad Unnecessarily

If you knew of someone who was planning to go abroad for a holiday but had fake business letters to show if challenged at the airport would you report them?

OP posts:
ZooeyS · 28/01/2021 11:57

No....not unless I really really hated them

Cabinfever10 · 28/01/2021 12:02

Yes if I was certain that it was just a holiday and not a working holiday

rubyjoo2 · 28/01/2021 12:06

No.

Everyone is sick of lockdown, and if some people want to go abroad, while following safety measures, such as, getting a negative covid test beforehand, then i have NO issue with this,

I am moving abroad for a few months on Wednesday also, part holiday part work, im getting a test beforehand, and when i arrive, and wearing mask at all times

being abroad is safer than ireland right now since abroad, everyone follows the guidelines properly.

shitinmyhandsandclap · 28/01/2021 12:07

No but I'd hope someone challenges them and proves them to be lying

Ginfordinner · 28/01/2021 12:07

No I wouldn't, but I would judge them.

kowari · 28/01/2021 12:09

The virus doesn't know who is travelling for business or a holiday.

luxxlisbon · 28/01/2021 12:09

Wtf even is a fake business letter? Hmm

EmmaStone · 28/01/2021 12:10

Nope. I just can't get agitated about what other people do, I can't control them, why bother trying? TBH if the controls aren't rigorous enough to stop it, I see that as a govt issue.

peak2021 · 28/01/2021 12:20

If they were going to visit an elderly relative who could not travel even post pandemic I might have a bit of sympathy, but otherwise I would have no hesitation in reporting them. If only out of consideration for the space in the plane, boat or Eurostar train for anyone legitimately travelling to reduce the risk of Covid 19 for them.

CrotchBurn · 28/01/2021 12:40

No i would try and get a life instead.

Imapotato · 28/01/2021 12:42

No I wouldn’t. But then there’s not much I’d go out of my way to report some one else for.

Some people love to report others. Do what makes you happy OP.

Iknowwhatudidlastsummer · 28/01/2021 12:45

No

There are enough people mixing with flipping "bubbles' right left and centre, I would most certainly not begrudge any of a holiday!

Most of the kids sent in "isolation" from schools are out and about, no one cares either.

tatutata · 28/01/2021 12:47

You mean because you're really jealous and want to make an example of them? The beatings must continue until morale improves? Good idea.

BountyFul · 28/01/2021 12:48

No but purely out of interest who would you report them too?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 28/01/2021 13:01

No, it's the coming back that's the issue.

In fact if everyone in the country went abroad we wouldn't have Covid here. Hmm

Jijithecat · 28/01/2021 13:21

Have you posted this on the coronavirus board? I suspect you would get a very different response to those you are getting here.

CoronaIsWatching · 28/01/2021 13:23

Yes I would. There must be no mercy.

contrmary · 28/01/2021 13:34

Yes, if I knew who to report them to.

Chloemol · 28/01/2021 13:56

Maybe, but let’s hope they have to quarantine on their return,

2021vision · 28/01/2021 14:01

No because I don't have any faith that the government is going to implement the recent announcement re closing borders. I suspect the reasons will be some vague waffle that are easy to get around. Unless we do a New Zealand the whole thing is pointless and don't get me started on Britons returning home that can't afford to self isolate. If you can afford to go abroad during a pandemic you can afford to isolate when you come back or please just don't come back until the all clear is announced.

Iknowwhatudidlastsummer · 28/01/2021 14:04

If you would report someone going on holiday, are you also reporting your relatives and neighbours breaking the rules?

Or is it just the idea of someone else having a holiday that is gratting?

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 28/01/2021 14:06

Take it to the Coronavirus board, eh? Misery loves company, you'll fit right in. And the whole site really doesn't need this constant 'report thy neighbour' negativity regurgitating on a loop every single day. It's way beyond tedious.
