to hate my job after long term illness?

I recently returned to a job that I liked before I went off ill (12 months) and I just don't enjoy it anymore and I just don't know why.
Im not sure if its because of lockdown and isolation but I feel like I'm struggling to reconnect with my colleagues and I feel as if I am no longer part of the team anymore.
I don't know if it's normal to feel like this after a long time off sick. AIBU?

I think that’s very normal. A long term illness changes you and it’s easy to think that returning to work = returning to the old you.

How long have you been back? I would expect it to take a while to reform those connections after a year away and to get back into the swing of everything

Your right I did think that returning to work would mean the old me back 🙁 I have been back nearly 6 weeks, I thought I would be feeling a bit better by now.

I think you just need to take things slowly one day at a time, I can imagine it been difficult especially if you have been isolating and you are not use to been around people anymore.
Have you spoken to your manager about how you are feeling? Maybe ask if you can stagger breaks throughout the day so that you can have a bit of a breather away from it all when it starts to get a bit too much for you.

Have work been good about returning. My dad had heart attack and was off a year. When he went back, he had no desk or computer. They didnt have space for him to work in. My mum went in (dad worked there for 40 years and they knew mum well as dad had rasied most of them as apprentices) and gave them all hell. It got better. They weren't deliberately mean just thoughtless

I was on a phased return for 6 weeks so that helped a lot. When I was off sick I didn’t keep in contact with my colleagues so I guess that didn’t help. My manager is fairly new, started 6 months ago so that makes it more challenging.
