To ask for help with Ebay now it's all changed?..

I bought a vintage mirror a week ago & paid immediately by Paypal. The seller says he can see that I've purchased but as of today (7 days later) Ebay still hasn't forwarded the funds to him. I looked into this & Ebay has changed the way it works. You can still purchase by Paypal but a seller no longer receives the money from Paypal. The money is passed on by Ebay direct into the sellers bank account. This is supposed to take no more than two days. My seller won't post the item until he has the funds in his account. Has anyone else had experience of this?

I recently sold some furniture and PayPal kept the money for a few weeks iirc as I was a new seller just in case there were problems iyswim.
I think it odd the seller won't send your stuff if they know you have paid. It's not your problem PayPal aren't sending the money immediately.

Hmmm not sure if what I've described is the same issue apologies.

Basically either Ebay are royally taking the piss, holding this money for so long. Or my seller is lying for an excuse not to post the item to me.

Open a case in the resolution centre?

If the seller is on the new managed payments system then they should dispatch the item before they receive payment.

The funds will show as pending in their account and Ebay will notify the seller the item has been payed for and after dispatch confirmation the money will reach their account a few days later (if they have set up daily pay-outs) or the next week if they have set up weekly pay-outs).

If they mess you about just open an item not received case for a refund.

If you really want the mirror then I would ask the seller to contact ebay so they can have this new system explained or direct them to pages.ebay.com/seller-center/service-and-payments/managed-payments-on-ebay.html

I've just set this up. You can choose for eBay to pay you your funds everyday or once per week. Maybe seller should check their settings. That aside, once eBay have received payment from buyer they give go ahead for seller to despatch. He just needs to check his seller hub to see when they will forward it. As an example I can see my payment will arrive Tues (weekly) but I despatched the goods today.

Seller won't get his money until you receive your item, so if he won't post, open a case and eBay will return your money. eBay tends to side with the buyer.

It is a new thing EBay has started. I've actually signed up to do it this way but haven't sold anything yet.

From reading the info I was sent it does sound like it takes a few days for the funds to arrive. However they will be able to see it has been paid. I will be sending the item when it's been paid not when I received the funds.

However maybe some folk don't have the money to post items before it arrives in their bank especially if they are selling lots of stuff. In that case though they wld be better to just stay receiving the money into PayPal account. You don't have to take them up on the new direct to your bank way.
