Psychic babies...

So o think my babies might be those really advanced for their age type, but in terms of being psychic not anything else. They're not walking or talking yet but o wonder of it's because they're so focused on honing their talents??

They'll go to bed and generally sleep ok, fee groans etc. We'll come up from 11ish, next room. Of DH comes in alone whilst I shower, they'll sleep. the minute I come in and lie down, one of them criesm
Impossible to know which cos if you go on they lie still in the dark silently waiting for you to retreat and lie down before they do it again.

Eventually they'll tire of this and go quiet, then they wait for you to start to drop off before letting out a shriek of achievement that they've caught you before you've gone.

I say you, I mean me. DH never hears them.

They can also do it if I start a good dream.

Do you think I should take them onto This Morning? Would Phil and Holly do a story and make us famous?

Sorry what

threeitchyfeet · 24/01/2021 02:40

Mine were all experts at waking up before I finished the first sentence of my book. Grin

MistressoftheDarkSide · 24/01/2021 03:16

Lol.

You may be on to something. My late mother would invariably ring me just as bottom made contact with loo sest. Prior to her demise obviously..... I still keep half an eye on the damn phone now, only half wishing it to ring.....

I was a psychic baby. And I’m now a psychic partner because I always know when to say “are you asleep?” Just as he’s falling asleep.

choosername1234 · 24/01/2021 03:37

Mine too...! Except she wakes just as I'm about to start eating a meal, every bloody time!

Monty27 · 24/01/2021 03:40

They're very polite. At least they give you a moment.
Well done OP.

Emeraldshamrock · 24/01/2021 04:01

Yes it doesn't change much every time I want to use the toilet the DC suddenly need to interrupt me.

Oh you too. Our now 18 year old did this, then his brother came along a few years later and did it too.

We became experts at "eating in shifts"

My cat must be psychic too cos every time I'm about to eat some food she drops a stinking turd in her litter tray.
Reckon Holly and Pip will make us famous too?

TwilledSilesia · 24/01/2021 06:24

Babies are all psychic, and as clever as a bag of particularly crafty weasels.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 24/01/2021 06:24

With mine it was the bath. I could run the bath without them waking but dip as much as a toe in that water, night or day, and they would wake IMMEDIATELY and demand a feed.

SleepingStandingUp · 24/01/2021 10:24

I'm not sure Phil and Hol will be that interested any more, you'll all just call up and say your babies are special too.
They need to find an talent.

Hmm maybe one of those all you can eat competitions.....

🤣

omg mine too its so poggers

FelicityPike · 31/03/2021 09:34

DEFINITELY Phil & Holly material!

Londonmummy66 · 31/03/2021 17:25

DC now 17&18 say I need to go to the loo every time they call. Not sure if that is their psychic powers calling at the wrong time or an involuntary response of my pelvic floor to them after all they put it through.....

CoRhona · 31/03/2021 17:43

Grin either psychic or they can see in the dark!!

GrumpyHoonMain · 31/03/2021 18:00

Mine is 15 mo and is clearly a wizard in training because he has finally figured out how to bf without waking me up. Makes cosleeping with him worth it.

Isadora2007 · 31/03/2021 18:07

My youngest has the psychic ability to know when me and his dad are getting frisky. He still stirs in bed age 8!

Biffbaff · 31/03/2021 18:53

Disappointed, I came here for spooky tales of baby woo powers. Instead it's the ramblings of the chronically sleep deprived. Sympathies OP! My son does this whenever my husband comes to bed!

Stevearnottsbeard · 31/03/2021 19:16

I was about to tell you what my 11yr old said to me at the weekend... But since I'm here I may aswell anyway
On Sunday she told me she was psychic and could see into the future so naturally I asked for the next winning lottery numbers, she turned to me with a withering look on her face and said 'mum, I said I was psychic, not a blooming genius!' with an emphatic eye roll too. Whilst she certainly put me in my place I couldn't stop laughing 😂 😂

Biffbaff · 31/03/2021 20:39

@stevearnottsbeard That's hilarious!

LyndaSnellsSniff · 31/03/2021 21:11

My youngest would allow me to get ready for bed, snuggle down, read a page, start to drift off and then scream the second my eyes closed. It made no difference what time I went to bed, how quiet I was or if DH went to bed before me. It was ALWAYS the very second I fell asleep.
