I can think of two who i have heard describe themselves as "the alpha dog" and "the alpha male". Both are colossal twats, one is known to be abusive to his partners and I suspect the other has been too.

Apparently it was the reason he wanted to date other women.

I only ever see people describe themselves as the alpha male on reality tv. They’re almost always arrogant, immature idiots who I immediately dislike. “Alpha” seems to mean full of their own importance, likes ordering other people around who they perceive as being beneath them, hangs around with equally stupid mates acting like a bunch of teenage boys.

Essentially, a group of men who claim to fight for "men's rights" but actually are just deeply misogynistic and want to remove rights and services for women under the guise of "it's not fair". They don't actually fight for issues that affect men, like depression, suicide and homelessness. They're too busy stopping women accessing women-only services.

I don't think the self-described "alpha male" I met was a woman hater exactly (although he was going through a slightly acrimonious divorce) but he was certainly a lazy cunt who wanted everything on his terms.

I work with someone who described himself to me as an Alpha male. Just casually dropped it into the conversation as though I already knew because it was so obvious.

He is a massive twat and hugely misogynistic. Lacks social and people skills, and is unbearably arrogant. Pretty much every time he opens his mouth is hilarious/cringe.

I don't think there has ever been a genuine Alpha Male, who has said out loud that he is an Alpha Male. I'm sure saying it instantly disqualifies you.
