Sorry, I know this is possibly the wrong place but I would like traffic so sorry (again).

Please can you talk to me about headphones. I am thinking about getting some AirPods but I am worried about it being a lot of money and them falling out (my apple headphones do constantly).

Please can people advise me?

Thanks 🙏

I have AirPods and wear them for running. No issues with them staying in.

Arrierttyclock · 16/01/2021 21:05

I've just moved from my big beats headphones to AirPods and I love them! The only time they've fallen out is when I pulled my hat off and forgot they were there. The my pause when one is removed so if that does happen at least you'll know. I would 100% recommend tbem

UrAWizHarry · 16/01/2021 21:09

I much prefer earbuds with a wire so if one does fall out you don't lose them, and you can hang them off your neck etc when talking.

Plus like all apple products they are ridiculously overpriced. You can do better at half the cost.

I’m trying to decide between AirPods and Powerbeats pro - can’t make a decision

Givemeabreak88 · 16/01/2021 21:11

I’m interested in knowing this, I would like some but they are a lot of money but I hate the head phones with the wires but I can imagine losing them as well

BudgieHammockBananaSmuggler · 16/01/2021 21:14

I like my Mifo earbuds. They are a lot of bang for your buck (according to reviews I read). I don’t need top of the range sound, and they are more than good enough.

coronafiona · 16/01/2021 21:19

I have cheap AirPods. They are annoying. They fall out when running and if I push them in they turn off. They automatically star music on my phone which is irritating if I don't nec want to listen to it, sometimes I want a podcast. I'm going to buy some old fashioned wire ones with sponge.

indemMUND · 16/01/2021 21:26

I have cheap Bluetooth ones (Home Bargains) that are attached to a band that goes round the back of your neck and sits like a necklace. No long wire and if they fall out I can easily grab them. Game changer for walking and hoovering Grin

Pixilicious · 16/01/2021 21:29

I’ve just bought aftwrshokz aeropex. They are bone conductor ones and I love them. I use them for running and I can listen to music and still hear what’s going on around me. I feel much safer. Obviously if you want to block out background noise they’re not going to do that.

marshmallowfluffy · 16/01/2021 21:31

My teenagers wear AirPods. They are apparently very similar shape to the wired ones which they find comfy so if you find the wired uncomfortable, I'd not buy AirPods.
I believe the AirPods Pro are a different shape.

BillMasheen · 16/01/2021 21:33

I have AirPods. I love them.

But

If apple headphones don’t fit, then AirPods won’t. AirPods are a funny shape (like the wired onesthat come with iPhones ) and they either fit you or they don’t. So don’t buy AirPods.

I am a big fan of Bose headphones. I have the over ear Bose ones, and if AirPods didn’t fit, then I’d have got the Bose in ear ones instead. (I have to wear headphones a lot for reasons so I own both in—ear and over—ear headphones and have researched the various brands extensively)

I have fake air pod type ones £20 on Amazon they are perfect. They work by touch. And when I lost one taking my mask of in the street and flinging it out my ear, it didn't matter as they're cheap.

Besswess88 · 17/01/2021 09:57

Yes - the ones that came with the phone do not seem to fit my ears - is this a thing?

But the AirPod pro are a different shape?

BillMasheen · 17/01/2021 11:56

Yes, it is a thing. (Air pods not fitting).

The new ones are a different shape. Though you can hack (for want of a better word) original AirPods to fit.

AirPod pro are a different shape to AirPods.

You can get AirPod ear tips to change the shape of AirPods and Apple earphones.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/01/2021 13:15

I love my AirPods and don't have any problems with them falling out of my ears. I can't wear anything that goes right in my ear canal so these are perfect. The only problem I have is I've been advised not to have a conch piercing if I use them!
