AIBU to think the government has lost the plot ?

It is allowing the use of a Neonicotinoid insecticide that is banned in much of the EU. This insecticide kills bees.
Michael Gove stated in parliament in July 2018 that our removal from EU regulations would mean the UK controls could be set at a higher standard. Obviously not the case.
AIBU = lost the plot
AINBU = justified use of a useful chemical

Plot was lost long ago. Long, long ago.

GodOfPhwoar · 16/01/2021 16:01

Well, I thought bees were critical to the ecosystem for pollination purposes etc, but I guess it ultimately depends on exactly how responsibly it'll be used. Definitely sounds like a stark contrast to our banning of live exports.

LucyfurMorningstar · 16/01/2021 16:11

The EU are allowing exemptions too.

It's the worst possible decision. This fucking government are utter corrupt bastards.

They never had it.

I voted yanbu, but then discovery your poll has the opposite answers to your title. So you're being unreasonable for that!

@purpleleotard
YABU
Where is your link that the government have now allowed this pesticide?
The link another MN has added tells us how some countries in the EU are asking for exemptions, are we too?
Accusations without proof OP?
