Socks with slippers

I have the fluffy ugg slippers so they keep your feet very warm. I wear them with bare feet (no socks) but recently I’ve seen a few photos (Instagram etc) of people wearing socks with slippers. Am I doing it wrong?!

Won't they start to smell if you don't wear socks?

They will start to smell very quickly if you're not wearing socks (not envy!)

I thought the point of Ugg's was that you didn't wear slippers with them? That not wearing slippers kept your feet warmer & the Ugg's fresher?

I don't wear them, the thought makes my feet melt. I don't have sweaty/smelly feet unless I continually wear my trainers without socks (which I prefer), but after a while they get whiffy.

But as I saud, it's my belief you're not supposed to wear socks with Ugg's.

Definitely socks! My feet get so uncomfortable without socks on when I’m wearing slippers and the slippers smell.

With normal ugg boots you're not supposed to wear socks with them so I imagine slippers are the same.

Yes you are doing it wrong, you are going to get stinky slippers.

I wear socks and slippers to be even warmer. Am perpetually freezing!

I have a pair of Ugg boots too which I don’t wear often (don’t go anywhere to wear them!) but when I do I would always wear socks with them. But slippers I have never thought to wear socks. They don’t smell! But it seems I am in the minority so may have to try them with socks!

You're not supposed to wear socks with sheepskin slippers. The fluff molds to the shape of your toes so they are a perfect fit. Only put in clean feet, they don't smell. Definitely wear socks with man made fibre slippers.

I don't have smelly feet so I never wear socks with slippers or my Ugg boots but then they're both made with natural fibres (wool slippers and sheepskin uggs) and let skin breathe.

My house is very cold so I have special indoor-only socks made from cashmere that I wear with my slipper boots. The height of luxury.

^ my slipper boots are not UGG so it's Okay for me to wear my indoor socks with them!

I've never worn socks with slippers. I often don't wear socks with shoes. I think the socks make the smell worse, if you are that way inclined, because the squash the toes closer together and don't let the feet breathe. Pure wool or cotton socks may work, but then they slip about.

Haha maybe I should have checked the actual Ugg website before posting this! Interesting to see people’s different thoughts though!

I've had ugh slippers for over ten years. Don't wear socks - just get out of bed and put them on. They've never smelt at all! The suggestion is odd to me as they've never smelt of anything.

I don’t have smelly feet either but I find my feet get hot and sweaty when I wear shoes or slippers without socks. That may be due to the shoes/slippers I’m wearing but socks are an easy fix for me.

The thought of slippers after a few weeks of no socks, even for the people with Prince Andrew's condition (if I can call it that) is very unpleasant.

Socks, unless the slippers are washable and you wash them at least weekly.

I have UGG slippers. I wear socks. I'd get cold ankles otherwise!

They are the best slippers ever. 3 years and still going strong. Super warm and also sturdy. Love them.
