I've been on cerazette for a year I had sort of a period at beginning of December, as I've decided now is the time to try for another child, so I came off the pill at the end December, ive not had a period since then, i plan on doing a test next week.. Im just wondering if anyone has any advice with regards to coming off the pill and how quick they conceived

With my second child it was almost immediately. First, took a few months. Was on the pill for a long time prior.

Def take a rest - you never know!

I was on cerazette for years and came off if I even missed a day or so would come on my period. Last year I came off my pill in March and it took until the first week of may for me to come on, I was so worried and had been speaking to my Dr etc, but I fell pregnant literally the first week after that period and am due in 3 weeks :)

BlackRibboner · 14/01/2021 06:46

Took a few months after coming off Dianette to conceive.
I also came off Cerazette at the end of December (not ttc, just ran out!) and have just started bleeding, a little earlier than expected, after previously having bleeding whenever I missed one. It's a bit random and difficult to track until you've had your first proper period off it - but I hope you don't and you get that second line Smile

I came off cerazette at the beginning of December, to try for baby#1 (I took it for a couple of years and before that I was taking a combination pill). It's been a while and I still haven't had my period, only a few days of spotting now and then. Took a few pregnancy tests, all negative Sad. I know I shouldn't be this stressed and shouldn't expect results so quickly but I don't even know how long my cycles are or when I'm ovulating (if I am even) because I've been on the pill for more than 10 years! Did you have the same experience? Any advice out there? Thank you in advance! Xx

I was on Cerazette last year when we decided to try for baby number 2. I came off the pill on 17th January and I found out I was pregnant on 29th Feb so almost immeadiately

Tryingforbaby91 · 20/01/2021 10:20

@LynseyLou1982 That's awesome! I wish I had your luck! How did you know when to take a pregnancy test?

RandyGiles06 · 20/01/2021 10:23

Took me 2 months to get a period after coming off cerazette, we started trying the following month and conceived that month Smile I had been on it for years though.

I came off that pill and got pregnant immediately; it was a bit of a surprise for it to happen so quickly

mindutopia · 20/01/2021 10:26

It's not even been a month yet, so I think you need to give your body some time to adjust, particularly if you've been taking the pill constantly with no pill breaks (as I think you do for cerazette?). I was on the combination pill, but my cycle came back straight away both times and I was pregnant the 2nd month after I stopped. But my cycles have always been like clockwork (even while ebf!), so very much depends on how regular you are anyway.

Thank you for all your replies!
I know I should give myself a break. I was ready for taking a while to get pregnant, I just wasn't expecting to have to wait more than a month for my first bleed. The hardest part is not having a clue of what is going on, I don't think I even was regular before. But alas, I need to keep reminding myself to be patient.
I'm glad you had such positive experiences! Thank you for sharing! Give's me a bit of hope.

RandyGiles06 · 20/01/2021 11:19

@Tryingforbaby91 ahhh don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s maddening waiting for everything to go back to normal! We weren’t trying at that point but had a month in mind to start and as it started looming I got pretty stressed wondering if I’d have a proper cycle by then! Safe to say I didn’t go back on it after DC1 because I knew it would only be a year or so until we’d be thinking about DC2! Grin

LynseyLou1982 · 22/01/2021 09:09

@tryingforbaby91 i didn't really as I didn't have an idea what my cycle was doing. I'd bee using some cheapie ovulation test strips from Amazon and I kept getting a positive for over a week which I thought was weird and then I read something that said ovulation strips can also pick up the pregnancy hormone. So I bought a pack of 5 tests and the rest was history, our DD arrived on 30th October.

Tryingforbaby91 · 22/01/2021 09:17

@LynseyLou1982 Oh wow I didn't know you could get positive on the ovulation strips if you are pregnant Shock Congratulations! So happy for you! Grin

Hello everyone, hope it’s ok to jump onto this thread!

I came off Cerazette on December 28th after being on it since I was 15 (now 28 next month). During that time I had no periods at all. We are TTC our first baby.

It’s been 28 days today that I stopped cerazette and I’ve had such a mix of “symptoms” such as niggling tummy pains, very, hard larger erect nipples etc over the last couple of weeks. I have done a few tests which have been BFN.

However the last few days I have had what I assume are “AF pains” (it’s been so long since I had a AF I can’t even remember what it feels like). Also felt really nauseous, nipples still erect and boobs a little sore. I’ve not had any bleeding at all since stopping the pill so however much I would love a BFP I’m guessing AF is around the corner shortly! Just curious as to whether anyone else has had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance Smile

Tryingforbaby91 · 24/01/2021 13:19

@AmandaL7
My AF finally showed up 3 days ago.
I also had an array of "symptoms" whilst I was waiting for my AF. I had sore boobs, felt bloated for weeks, and had lots of cramps, which I didn't use to have. I didn't feel nauseous, however.

AmandaL7 · 24/01/2021 13:37

@Tryingforbaby91 that’s interesting to know thank you! It’s cruel how similar the symptoms are haha! Do you mind me asking how long it took you to have AF after coming off cerazette?

Tryingforbaby91 · 24/01/2021 13:43

@AmandaL7
No worries 😉 I know! It's too cruel! I must have done about 4 pregnancy tests whilst I was waiting for my AF, always hoping 😂 it took me about 1 month and two weeks, give or take.

AmandaL7 · 24/01/2021 13:49

@Tryingforbaby91 I know me too I just can’t help myself 😂 it’s frustrating because I was all “relax and see what happens” and it’s only been a month and already I’m over thinking everything - already driving myself mad and most probs other half too!! That gives me hope thank you! In a way will be glad when AF does come then at least I can try and figure out my cycle x

Tryingforbaby91 · 24/01/2021 14:15

@AmandaL7 I started off with that in mind as well. It didn't last long haha 😂 I was over thinking everything. Now that AF is here, it has been a bit less stressful as I know a bit better what's going on. I'm sure I'll be back to over thinking in a couple of weeks though 😅😂 I know what you mean! This was actually the first time ever I've felt glad for my AF! Yours will show up too. Just give yourself some time to adjust x

Markies · 24/01/2021 14:20

5 years.

AmandaL7 · 24/01/2021 14:21

@Tryingforbaby91 yes I can imagine I will be the same 😂 Thank you it’s just nice to talk to others going through the same thing!! X

AmandaL7 · 29/01/2021 13:31

Just a quick update.. I actually ended up with a BFP so I must have literally fell as soon as I stopped taking my last pill (28th Dec) .. still in shock to be honest 😯

Chezz89 · 24/11/2021 16:11

Hi can anyone help? I came off cerazette 28 days ago today TTC. No withdrawal bleed, regular DTD. On day 24 off the pill I felt very suddenly nauseous, day 25 I thought I was getting my period but it was one say of brown and light pink blood and cramping that went away the next day and I felt fine. On day 27 I got lower back pain, day 28 today feel fine and got a BFN this morning. Any idea if this was a withdrawal or implantation bleed? Surely a withdrawal bleed would come quicker, heavier and last longer? I got no period on cerazette at all. If I could be pregnant, when should I test as no last date of period? Thanks x
