As stupid as this sounds I have a blank space in my upstairs hallway which has really been bugging me. I really like how radiator covers look, so would it be stupid to get one just to fill the space of the wall even though there is no radiator there?

Couldn't you find a useful item of furniture to fill the space instead? A console cupboard could probably be about the same sort of dimensions. But, if it's just because you like the design and you have no need for additional storage space, then there's no reason why not.

Can you get openable in a front? You could then put shelves in and have it as a shallow storage for odd bits

You could get a really nice console or side table rather than a naff radiator cover!

There are some nice shoe cabinets that are about the same size.

though my choice would be for an old one - plenty on ebay, fb etc.

I have one on my hall with nothing under it.
I dont think its naff and was a lot cheaper than a console table but each to their own
