Why are they not wearing face masks and having house parties?

Is this a missed opportunity to educate the population and role modelling good covid behaviour?

It was filmed months ago, before we knew we were back in lockdown.

Plus it would make a very boring soap if no one was mixing.

If this makes you cross, avoid holby city, they are mostly not wearing masks in the hospital!

It is strange to see as they're in London filming.
It is regularly discussed in telly addicts.

It’s weird because in Corrie they all wear masks, social distance and act like there is a pandemic going on. Eastenders has been shit for years though.

It's filmed months in advance. And yes, it's not real. Covid is fast moving, EastEnders filming couldn't possibly keep up. It was decided the best thing all round would be to address covid when filming resumed then carry on with the planned storylines with adjustments to make filming as covid safe as possible.

The news is available 24 hours a day to educate the population.

It doesn't annoy me at all, I was just thinking about more ways to reach people. BoJo is obviously being ignored by a significant number of people.

I get that filming was a while ago, but house parties have been off the agenda for a very long time now.

You can still have good drama take place in a lockdown situation, just requires a lot of creativity.

It's a bit of escapism like the unlikely storylines?

I'm really enjoying the storylines at the moment, it's a breath of fresh air.
I don't need educating by Eastenders or anything else. I watch it to switch off.
I think we all get the gist of what we're supposed to be doing, we've been told every day for the last 10 months

I quite enjoy a bit of escapism, we see enough about Covid!

I like it. Takes my mind off the pandemic. Escapism.
