In December I eventually got an NHS check up with my usual dentist. She said there were a few issues with my gums and I needed to floss more etc. I asked if seeing a specialist gum dentist would be worthwhile and she said it would if I could afford it. I can so she agreed to make a referral.
Last week I was invited for a consultation at a large flash clinic not at all local to me, to see someone who appears to specialise in all sorts of clever stuff, but not gums. Very experienced apparently. Does this sound right or is it a periodontist I need?, AIBU to ask her to refer me somewhere else?
