Grapes - 2 thirds get eaten instantly the rest get ignored til binned
Satsumas- nobody touches them until I eat one in front of them then they remember they exist and eat them
Apples - ignored unless they’re truly desperate
Bananas- eaten instantly one week, ignored til they get used in a smoothie the next week
Strawberries- eaten instantly except 2 slightly pale ones left in tub
Raspberries- demolished before shopping is unpacked
Pears and grapefruit - all left for me luckily

All of us are like this! Exactly! (Looking at mottled banans and sad bag of apples in kitchen now.

Baboutheocelot · 10/01/2021 09:46

We get through vast amounts of grapes, blueberries and satsumas. Bananas get eaten in spades some weeks, others they get left to go brown. Strawberries are somewhere in the middle.

schmockdown · 10/01/2021 09:47

Berries get demolished
Watermelon and apple are populate IF I chop them up

Any M&S prepared fruit is chosen over anything else

Camomila · 10/01/2021 09:48

Similar! Apart from they both like pears and I never buy grapefruit. Also, I buy the big oranges instead of satsumas as the baby loves them. We share one most days after lunch.

We also go through lots of blueberries.

100%. Although I also have to factor in DS who will happily eat his body weight in a particular fruit one day and the next day look at me like I'm trying to poison him by serving them. Raspberries, I'm looking at you.

mrsbeeton999 · 10/01/2021 09:49

Oh yes tubs of prepared pineapple could bankrupt me. If I was a millionaire I’d have a fridge full of prepared fruit it is amazing (but I hate all the packaging) The thing I miss most now I’m homeworking is the lovely fruit platters we had with lunches

My 3yo would happily eat fruit all day (and biscuits, I'm no braggy saint!) We buy 1 pack strawberries, 1 pack grapes, 5 bananas, 5 satsumas and 5 apples a week and all are gone within 7 days. DH on the other hand never touches the stuff!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 10/01/2021 09:55

My DD will eat berries in less time than should be humanly possible, always wants bananas when we're doing the shopping list but has to be tricked/begged into eating them, thinks peeling apples is the best fun ever but won't eat the bastard things and forgets satsumas even exist unless I want to eat one in which case as soon as I've peeled it she does the blinky eyed 'pleeeeasse can I have it mommy'.

Frozen berries defrosted in the microwave to a hot runny saucy consistency are like Ambrosia from the gods as far as she's concerned, will just sit and eat a bowlful with a spoon and blissful look on her face.

Invisimamma · 10/01/2021 09:56

Exactly like this!

kowari · 10/01/2021 09:59

Satsumas- needs to be told to eat one, doesn't like peeling them but doesn't like the easy peel ones.
Apples- must be crisp and tangy and thinly sliced by me.
Pineapple- must be cut up and put in icecream container in fridge by me, eaten in two days.
Tomatoes- eaten whole straight from fruit bowl
Grapes- eaten if put in front of teen, does not remove them from fridge himself.
Banana- Frozen and put in smoothie only, doesn't like texture.
Strawberries- must be cut up by me.

AuntieMarys · 10/01/2021 10:04

My ds had a serious M and S mango habit

honeylulu · 10/01/2021 10:16

It seems to go in phases. They'll have a banana or grape craze for a week or two, suddenly "go off" them. They even do this with strawberries and raspberries if they've had them a lot. Me and I are astounded because (old gimmer alert) these were a great when we were young and you only got them in May/June.

I agree with pp s saying fruit that needs cutting up gets ignored. I've taken to buying precut mango, pineapple and watermelon as I was fed up throwing rotten ones away!

Livinginatree · 10/01/2021 10:24

Oh and don't forget the youngest having a horrendous habit of taking one bite out of an apple, changing his mind and sticking it back in the fruit bowl, usually so the bite isn't seen and there is a whole bowl of one-bite-out apples 🤦😝

LittleRa · 10/01/2021 10:28

My 6yo DD will claim she’s “on” or “off” a certain fruit each week Grin So she’ll be “on” bananas one week so I buy a bunch the following week and it’s “oh I’m off bananas this week!”

Norwayreally · 10/01/2021 11:07

Yes, definitely. Grapes and berries always go instantly, bananas and plums are popular one week then barely touched the next week, apples and pears are a last resort and satsumas tend to get forgotten because they can’t be bothered peeling them.
