£100 to spend on me.

So I have £100 to spend on me, I hate spending money on myself, I get this guilty ick feeling in my stomach.

The money has come from returned gifts that DP bought for Xmas that didn't fit and would probably have lived in the wardrobe even if they did.

I always end up spending it on DC but DP is insisting that I buy myself something!

What would you buy?

Yes I know it's not AIBU but I'm sick of all the misery and am looking for a distraction.

What do you like?

80sballetgirl · 08/01/2021 21:32

Okay so this is purely on the things I like lol but may give you an idea! Splurge some of it on some lovely candles 😁 A jazzy dress / top from Joe Browns. Do you like coffee!? A coffee machine. Or a nice piece of jewellery 😃

Merryoldgoat · 08/01/2021 21:33

I would by fabric and yarn.

rabbitheadlights · 08/01/2021 21:33

Honestly I'm a bit of a simple pleasures person really, I like good food, a decent crossword and nice pyjamas (but I have plenty of those). Ideally I would book a night in a hotel as I don't get much sleep 7DC 1 of whom has complex addition needs, but that's not possible atm.

pandarific · 08/01/2021 21:37

Gah was trying to say I'm being serious in case anyone thinks I'm trolling, but I'm not - nice high quality sex toy possibly?

rabbitheadlights · 08/01/2021 21:37

@80sballetgirl I love candles but it's never safe to light them in my house Sad I have a coffee machine which is my best friend!! Haha and I got a beautiful necklace and bracelet for Xmas.

I know it's ridiculous. I'm not really into clothes I buy all my stuff from the supermarket Blush

Books, perfume, bath stuff.

alltheadrenalin · 08/01/2021 21:40

What about cashmere pjs?

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 08/01/2021 21:41

A neom well-being pod? I love candles too but haven’t lit any since my 20 month old was born. This is a plug in oil diffuser. The essential oils are lovely, the happiness one is my favourite. I have it on most days now and it does lift my mood

Whatwouldnanado · 08/01/2021 21:42

These are ace. I had a clear out of my old scarves and spent last year's birthday money on the red and camel cashmere coloured wraps. I have the midnight blue silk and cashmere one too. httpss://www.audreykate.co.uk/

Hmmm!! What about a spa day or lovely afternoon tea (when we can!) or a lovely seat for the garden - like a hanging wicker chair or swing type chair?!

Mollymarvelous · 08/01/2021 21:45

Oo i love the neom diffuser idea if you can’t have candles. I’m going to get one

I was going to say the same thing 😂
rabbitheadlights · 08/01/2021 21:47

Some fab ideas thankyou. It's also a nice escape to just read what others would buy. Am really loving the idea of cashmere PJs I'm going to have a look.

I bought myself an £80 tablet. I've downloaded some good apps and games. I love it 💕

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/01/2021 22:11

Right now I would buy some Aromatherapy Associates bath oils, and a really lovely candle. Since we can’t go anywhere I feel like having nice things at home is really important.

Or do you like flowers? What about a subscription delivery? My MIL bought me a year’s subscription a few years ago and I got a beautiful bouquet each month. It was such a treat.

babysnowman · 08/01/2021 22:24

Make up? Mac are doing an offer right now where you get a blush, eyeshadow, lipstick, eye pencil and eyebrow pencil for £50 instead of £90. Lots of colour choices too.

herewegoagainst · 08/01/2021 22:32

Ugg slippers are the best £100 I've spent on myself recently, bought them at the start of the first lockdown and they've definitely been worth it.

101namesforme · 08/01/2021 23:09

Thank you @Judystilldreamsofhorses
I have just looked up aromatherapy associates and plan to ask my mum for the ultimate bath oil collection for my birthday! I had been struggling to think of something but am excited about trying those. Smile

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/01/2021 23:14

They are really lovely 101! If you sign up to their newsletter they have good discounts - usually very infrequently, but I seem to get offers a few times a week at the moment.

Every Christmas my MIL buys me a massive box of Molton Brown bath stuff, then I snag the AA box in the sales. It keeps me going for ages! Baths are my best thing, particularly right now.
