Am I a key worker?

Before you all start I am not sending dd into school.

I am a 3rd year NHS student . I finished my clinical placement in hospital in December and now have lectures online. I am not sending dd in as i am now working from home. I have to go to hospital at some point to finish an assessment.

I have done the right thing keeping her off right?

I'm a final year NHS student currently only having lectures online. We have been told if we are on placement we are classed as "keyworkers", however not whilst attending online lectures. I haven't sent my 2DC in either so you've done the right thing!

You're not working you're studying at the moment, when you go back into the workplace on placement you would be a keyworker

I sometimes think it would be easier to specify who is not a keyworker.

For example if one looks at a hospital it needs administrators, doctors, nurses, maintenance staff, cleaners , cooks, ambulance drivers, mechanics, IT staff, buyers, accountants, payroll – they are all necessary to run a hospital otherwise they (hopefully) wouldn’t be there.

You can apply a similar approach to pharmacies, supermarkets, food and fuel delivery, energy providers, communications providers, repair garages, many warehouses, etc.
