To ask why my bruise is warm?

Shamelessly posting for traffic, sorry.

Fell at weekend and bashed my thigh against the edge of a step. Weirdly didn’t hurt that much at the time but a lump cake up and it’s fairly badly bruised.

Swelling has gone down but it’s warm to touch and still quite hard, my legs won’t fall off will it Hmm

Increase in blood flow and inflammation causes heat.

bendybeep · 06/01/2021 20:19

Ouch! It will be the inflammation and increased blood flow to the internal 'wound'

Partey · 06/01/2021 20:21

Thanks, I hoped that would be the case. I’m all the colours of the rainbow currently

Probably broke lots of small internal blood vessels.

If you start feeling generally unwell please seek medical advice. My mum got very poorly after a bump on her shin.

Ooh I could've written this OP. 5yo DS accidentally head butted me today 🙄. He was on my knee, leaned over to pick up a toy off the floor and inexplicably shot back up like a Jack on the box and his MASSIVE head (seriously I love him but FFS I have to buy aged 11 hats) with its thick skull clonked me on the forehead. I actually screamed with the pain! That was at 2pm and it's a lovely egg shape now, throbbing and very warm. I did figure though it's just blood flowing to it.
