Car seat packaging

Hello

I ordered a car seat in the sale from an online store. It's not described as a return or ex-display.

I've attached pictures of how it arrived. AIBU to expect it to have been packaged better? I would have expected it to be well protected with solid/shaped polystyrene. The box is falling apart and looks to have been opened and re-sealed several times. The sellotape sealing the bottom of the box has split.

This is the first car seat I've bought so not sure what to expect. It's a Cybex Aton M, would be grateful to hear if anyone else has this seat and how theirs was packaged!

I worked for Mothercare for several years and that’s not how they arrived in store. They should be packed much better than that to prevent damage in transit.
Contact the store and state that as the packaging is damaged you can’t be certain that that car seat hasn’t been damaged and you want to return. Damage to car seats can be invisible and you don’t want to take the risk.
