Best education system

Which of these three countries offer the best educational system & prepare students for the global jobs market.
I would say the U. K has an excellent system between private & state.
Ireland is supposed to have a fantastic state provision.
The USA seems to be similar to the UK with Catholic schools & private schools deemed superior to public.
Any other countries? Finland is always tooted as having the best educational development in the world. However China, Singapore & Hong Kong top the charts. Russia is also supposed to be very strong when it comes to science, maths, music & literacy. I gather there is very few private schools in Russia.
Aibu to think we are world leaders in education here in the UK?

I think you've got too much time on your hands.

Hello Gavin.

The English wnd Scottish systems are very different, I don't think you can lump them together.

If you are actually interested, then look up the OECD PISA studies.

And no, it's not the UK that comes out on top.

England does relatively well for its more academic children, but has a long tail of children who underachieve.

Finland I think values teachers as the professionals they are.

Otherwise, the systems are so different I don't think it's fully possible to compare.

I find it all fascinating now we're back home schooling again!

Best for who? Child, society, business, parents?

Hilarious that you think the UK is world-leading in education. Perhaps in private schools, but having taught in state primary schools, you are sorely mistaken.

The primary curriculum is a load of shite. Children are encouraged to plagiarise magpie written pieces so that Ofsted sees "quality" work. Teachers are required to teach maths using ridiculous methods that confuse more children than they help. Creativity, critical thinking, and independent research is further removed from schools than it has ever been.

I am from Canada and went through the Ontario education system. It makes far more sense, encourages better study habits, and frankly, produces better results.

I don't know which country has the best education, but I know for certain that the UK isn't it.
