I'm sorry to post for traffic but I'm hoping someone can let me know of they've experienced similar.

I'm 35 weeks and I can't stand up straight since yesterday.

If I try to straighten out, it's very painful around the bottom of my bump.

Baby is still moving and bouncing around like normal.

Has anyone had this? I'm sorry to post here, replies don't seem to come very fast on the pregnancy board at the moment Sad

I don't want to pester my midwife as I'm seeing her on Wednesday anyway and it's quite hard to get hold of her quickly (she's been great though all things considered! it's not a complaint).

Is it muscle pain or a sharp shooting pain into your crotch?

I did find the end of pregnancy uncomfortable and my hips / muscles ached like crazy, plus I would get lightening crotch too.

Maybe have a bath and see if it eases the pain. If it’s unbearable please ring the midwife x

It feels more like sharp shooting pain but I wouldn't say it's in my crotch. More across the bottom of my bump if that makes sense?

I have been having a lot of hip pain at night when sleeping but this is new.

I've been having baths none stop to be honest but they don't seem to be helping with this particular problem Sad

It's my first pregnancy (well my first successful 🤞pregnancy) so I don't know whether this is just typical discomfort as you're getting toward the end!

Thank you for replying x

Is it your bump itself, or your pelvis? It could be a strained muscle, it could be SPD. However, don't sit around in bad pain, call your midwife or triage!

Xmassprout · 04/01/2021 21:45

Could be SPD but I really would speak to your midwife just to be on the safe side. I had a UTI that presented just with pain on the bottom of my bump so it is worth double checking

Birdsofafeather17 · 04/01/2021 21:50

Defo get it checked out cos it might be something unrelated like appendicitis. Hopefully not. I couldn't stand up straight when I had appendicitis.

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 04/01/2021 21:53

It could be PGP riding up, or muscle related, but I would definitely advise just ringing triage for their opinion. If they say to just keep an eye and ring them back, mention you're going in the bath to see if that helps

CoronaIsADick · 04/01/2021 21:57

Possibly PGP. I had this and could barely walk without being in awful pain. I ended up needing crutches.
Best to get checked though just to be safe

LucyAutumn · 04/01/2021 21:57

Sounds like SPD to me too, try heat or a bag of cold peas on the area where you feel pain, it won't cure but might help a little, definitely call your midwife.

8lue8ird · 04/01/2021 22:06

I had this around 37 weeks. I went to get checked out and the midwife said it was lots of stretching going on in preparation for birth. Obviously get checked out though that's what they're there for. You won't relax until you do

Moo678 · 04/01/2021 22:40

Hey OP. I’ve had 3 babies and horrible SPD but it didn’t feel like this. If your midwife doesn’t get back to you then I think it would be worth ringing triage tomorrow morning Flowers
