That the contingency framework doc does not allow year 1 classes to be in school?

My kids’ school is in one of the areas covered by the contingency framework (ie schools must close until at least 18 jan). The contingency framework doc states that early years provision may stay open, which our school is interpreting as nursery, reception and year 1. Is anyone else’s school taking this approach? The way I read the doc I’m not sure reception is even allowed to open, but year 1 definitely seems to be stretching the definition of early years? All other schools in the area are closing completely as far as I’m aware.

Year 1 isn’t EYFS and shouldn’t be open, no.

That’s what I thought, although it seems like an odd thing for a school to have got ‘wrong’!

Reception yes, year 1 no

Year 1 isn’t EYFS. But back in the summer Yr1 went back at the same time as YrR so maybe your school is getting mixed up? 🤷‍♀️
