NC and posting for traffic

Had anyone's child been assessed remotely for autism recently? How did it go for your child?

Just to be clear this is an assessment arranged through CAMHS, but with a private company

Thank you

PSICON?? Yeah, it went okay. The ADOS test was fine face to face though and I feel that has to be. I can't see how that can be done online. The development part was poor. Only lasted 20 minutes and he barely asked any questions. Probably because the ADOS was so conclusive and I had already submitted all the information supporting the diagnosis, but even so my sons developmental assessment was an hour long.

@christmaspigeon thanks for replying

Its Healios we are seeing and all aspects are online. They will have lots of additional evidence from school and myself as well as the parent assessment of 3 hours too.

A three hour assessment is good! Sounds like you are on top of it an have the support of the school too which is great. Hope it all goes well

Kind of. We had been seen face to face 4 times in 3 years by 4 different locum paediatricians before covid. Paediatrician 4 said he thought ds had GDD and not autism but seeing as dh and I thought he has autism and we have family history then he would refer him for ADOS to rule out autism.

9 months later we get a telephone appointment with Paediatrician number 5. She said it's obvious from reports from school and speech therapist that he has autism. She says she can't diagnose him without seeing him so we need to wait 3 months for another appointment. Just over 3 months later we have an appointment with her on zoom and ds is diagnosed with high functioning autism.

Oh that's interesting. DD1 has had two questionnaires online, then we're on the waiting list for assessment, with Psicon. No indication that it will be online, but they have said they have no idea how long we will wait.

Hi, I'm sorry for bumping an old thread but I was wondering how the OG got on with the healios assessment? We have my daughters 3 hour online assessment this week and I'm just wondering what kind of questions they'll be asking? It worries me that they're really doesn't seem to be much interaction with the school, besides a simple questionnaire? They've also said they will focus on the development age 4-5, so I'm going through all my DD old school things to try and find as much info as possible for them as my memory is not great when put on the spot, so can I ask what kind of questions they focused on at your 3 hour development interview? 😊
