Scared about this surgery

Had a scan as I had abnormal vaginal bleeding. Turns out I have a mass in my uterus. Referred for 2 week urgent cancer pathway appointment. Will need some kind of surgery to have it removed. I'm not done having children, I'm nervous about being unconscious with my vagina exposed to doctors, I'm nervous it might be something sinister. This is an awful start to 2021. Has anyone any words of wisdom? Freaking out a bit as have had a number of abnormal smears in the past.

I've not got any experience of this kind of surgery but have had a fair few other surgeries for cancer and back so I do sympathise with you and understand your concerns. Try not to worry about it, you will be in good hands that have seen it all before

Sad to say they have probably seen a million vagibas so unless you have dyed your pubes, or shaped them into a heart, or have a dodgy tattoo, it’s a bit meh!

Hopefully it’s a mass of something harmless. Good luck.
